I have a brake i want to put on my FAL. The barrel is not threaded nor the inside wall of the break. The brake fits snuggle on the barrel (i can wiggle it down the barrell into place.) Can i take my torch and some solder want just sweat the break into place?

Take it from me.  If you can wiggle it down the barrel, the pressures of .308 bullets coming out of the barrel and the whipping harmonics of that barrel can wiggle it right back off again.  I've blown off two WELDED on AK74 style brakes so I know this.  You need a better solution.
