Very sad, always enjoyed his Programmes, 65 is no age at all.

Really sad. He had a great passion for what he did and it came across when he talked. RIP

Ironically I am half way through a book of his at the moment, "Redcoat".

A friend who was at staff college went on a battlefield tour as part of the course remembers his love of a glass of red!

Factual with a heathy dose of obvious enthusiasm - "War Walks" was a brilliant series.
