                          ITS HERE !!!!

Oh yeah, it's here at last, the waiting is over.

Thanks Matt, she looks amazing.

Now for a bit of advice about my first problem.

As you can see the scope i was going to use covers the charging handel, i know you can change the handel but would i be better going for a different scope ?

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

ITS HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

STEVE.

Thank god that's over....

Congrats...nice rifle

Can't you slide the scope further forward in the mounts?

Cheers

Taffy

ETA Are you sure the scope is big enough

I know, must have thought the rifle would be bigger, any suggestions for a good scope that would look the part ?

If you 'really' want to use that scope, then a Badger Tac latch will solve that problem, and they are cheap, like $20 I think.

Personally, as it looks to be M4 sized, then I think you should have a shorter scope, I personally love Eotechs, but they are non magnified and seeing as you come from an airgun shooting backgroud, you are probably looking at me like I'm the devil.

How about an ACOG? (4x)

Failing that I saw AGS did a 3-9X40 scope with mildot which was really short, 5" or so...

I.ve looked at the irons, but they dont seem to magnify by 26x so they are out of the question

26x! How far are you gonna try to shoot it?
You should be able to see a Fig11 at 300 with the Mk1 Eyeball (plus glasses if you need them), and at 600 a 4x scope will pick out most targets on a range.

Streetfighter regularly shoots his carbine at 1000 with the ACOG (4x), doesn't hit much but he can see the target

Too much scope
Link Posted: 9/1/2005 11:20:59 AM EDT
[#12]
How to easily access the charging handle:

1/ move scope as far forward in the mount as possible.

2/ remove mount from rifle.

3/ throw mount and scope in the bin.

4/ fit iron sights.

5/ shoot the rifle properly, as God (and Eugene Stoner) intended.

I like scopes, i'm shooting 200yds on sun so i'll give the irons a go untill i sort out the clearance issue.

I'm more worried about putting the poor thing in my dark and scary safe ( i might sleep with it in my bed for a couple of nights to settle it in ! )

Next question : how would i go about fixing a qd stud for my harris bipod ?

Answers on a postcard to this thread.

Here's a cheaper option
AGS scope fits straight onto AR handle. IIRC they are about £60-70
I used one at the range today on a friends rifle with the 22 kit fitted. Using this SK German ammo in a can stuff.
I was very impressed but as I've not used these expensive gucci scopes you guys have my opinion may be worth shit

TA31F BDC is based on a 14.5" barrel firing M855 with the ACOG mounted to the receiver via a TA51 mount. As it appears you have a full-size AR, this ACOG is useless to you.

As a favour, I'll take this useless ACOG off your hands. I'll even pay postage (hey, I'm a nice guy)

Limey you never give up...Come and watch me taking down targets with my 20",  flat top,  TA31F at 300, 600 and 800 yards at Stanta then decide how useless it is. Would love to ship it to you but cannot find the box, Darn it.
Seriously this is one hell of a scope and i would not swap it for all the tea in china, Though if anyone can get me the match ball when we win the Ashes at the Oval then it is theirs free of charge, Hell i will even throw in 1000 rounds.
