Please Distribute To All Sportsmen
This is an important issue concerning Sportsmen. As you are aware, numerous Fundraising Dinners and Events were severely effected this past fall/winter due to the threats of Licensed Firearms dealers NOT being allowed to display "weapons" (ie. guns, knives and bows) under current law. Fortunately several of NJ Legislators have taken the initiative to recognize this issue and have chosen to Sponsor Legislation to correct this situation.
Now is our opportunity to respond to their support by making our voices heard. Please take the time to contact each of the L&PS Committee members and let them know you are in favor of passing of Senate Bill Number 809 through Committee.
The Senate Law and Public Safety and Veterans’ Affairs Committee will meet on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM in Committee Room 4, 1st Floor, State House Annex, Trenton, New Jersey to consider S-809 sponsored by Senator Steve Sweeney (D-3 Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland) and Senator Steve Oroho (R-24 Sussex, Morris, Hunterdon).
S-809- Clarifies that licensed dealers may provide firearms for display at fund raising events sponsored by certain tax exempt organizations. The can complete Bill can be found HERE

What a clusterfuck in Trenton!
The axxholes who are in attendance at the Senate Law and Public Safety Committee have shown themselves to care only about exerting control over everyone and everything they can.
They haven't even gotten to Sweeney's bill that would enable charitable organizations to display firearms for fundraisers. They're still discussing (with very limited intelligence) S182 which would permit "some" law enforcement personnel to use stun guns or electronic control devices or conductive energy weapons, whatever they decide to call them.
What a bunch of turdbrains!
I listened to the rest of the hearing live, and when it adjourned, I realized that tuning in after it started, I must have missed the discussion of S809. I listened to the stored audio and sure enough, it was the first bill they considered.
There were quite a few amendments added to the bill to "tighten it up" in the words of
I have a sneaky suspicion that the only reason this bill saw the light of day is that Sen Sweeney (a Dem from south jersey and former union thug and current double dipper) is part of the majority leadership.
So is it now worthless?
