About to head to Birmingham for a couple of days for work.  Are there any great places to get Powder & Primers close by?

I'm be coming over on I-20 from Atlanta.  Hoping to pay less than the going rate in Macon area.  ($27 for 8208 XBR for instance)

Thanks

Scott

Only places I know are ATI indoor range in northside of B'ham, but you will be better off checking with Simmons in Bessemer (far west side), or, Bass Pro in Leeds (far east side).

Other places keep small stocks, such as Hoover Tactical in Hoover (southern suburb) and the FOP firing range in Pleasant Grove (also far west side).

You'll be driving directly past Bass Pro in Leeds.... but the place is absolute bedlam right now. 3 State Troopers directing traffic on Friday night. In the parking lot.

Yeah, there's a Bass Pro in Macon.  Don't get me wrong, I love the place, but they get top dollar for powder.

I was looking for the Graf's of Alabama.

They NEVER send me to Missouri.

Chalkville Ace Hardware, Chalkville Mountain Road, Trussville.      They have a Hodgdon Powders, Primers and Zero Bullets.  Not a huge selection, and they will order what you need if they don't have.it.

Gun Cellar in Hoover. Very small selection, but they have it.

What your neighborhood ACE doesn't carry reloading components?        It's surprised me too, but boy is it convenient.      They have the best prices on projectiles, I've seen locally.

+1 on Simmons.  It is where I buy my re-loading gear.

I appreciate all the replies.  I'm back home now, and I didn't see the post for Simmons until it was too late to visit.  I did visit that Ace Hardware and picked up 1k small rifle primers and a few hundred large rifle.
