Pirro drops out of New York Senate race
Updated: 12/21/2005 4:37 PM
By: The Associated Press

A Republican who had hoped to take away Hillary Rodham Clinton's Senate seat next year is setting her sights a little lower.

Jeanine Pirro said she's going to run instead for New York attorney general.

State Republicans had been urging her to abandon her struggling Senate campaign. In a statement, Pirro said she's decided that with her law enforcement background, she's better qualified for the attorney general race.

It leaves two Republicans without much statewide name recognition in the race. But some supporters expect Richard Nixon's son-in-law, Edward Cox, to jump back in. He had pulled out after Governor George Pataki endorsed Pirro.

considering that for at least a month pirroforag has been the active site and not pirroforsenate.com I'm not surprised

It would have been political suicide for her to have stayed in the race against the Hildebeast.
