Has there been any updates on when the next Panora shoot will be?

My understanding is that it's not gonna happen.  At least in the capacity we would all like.  I think Booger has something else in the works.  I have heard talk of a place S.E. of Des Moines.  It is private so we wouldn't have any naysayers showing up saying we can't have fun.

WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?!?
This is the shoot I missed because of getting married, and the Mrs. wouldn't even go for the reception there...  I have checked the other pages and there is no sign of any info on the spring shoot anywhere so i assume they have been removed??  Something happen?  I thought we had talked to "authorities" in the past and there was no problem withus shooting there?

My cousin and I just went last Friday and did some shooting.  There were a couple gents sighting in high-power and blackpowder for an upcoming elk hunt and it was nice to talk to them.  After they left we "cordoned" off the entry way between the parking lot and 100 yard bench with yellow "CAUTION" and red "DANGER" tape suspended above the ground on poles and stretched clear across from left to right( you would have to tear the tape or "limbo" under it to get to the 100 yard bench) then we moved back to the 200 yard bench and shot from there.  We each had .243's, his a Savage and mine a Remington 700; I also shot my T/C Encore handgun in .204.  We took turns spotting and had a good time but could only shoot for a couple hours and I BARELY made it back to Panora into the Casey's before the thunderstorms hit in the afternoon.  It was some rare early afternoon time off and I made some good use of it!

But, WHAT HAPPENED IN THE SPRING????

What happened?

The easy answer is that I Fu@@ed up.  The ground belongs to state.  DNR does not want auto weapons on their property because of some people destroying their property, not at Bays Branch, but some other place.  The DNR officer that met us there was really nice and went to bat for us to have it there that day.  He mentioned about trying to get a waiver for the shoot, like when they have fishing contests.
There weird thing is that some people that work for the DNR were reading this site but didn't say anything about not being able to have the shoot there.
Well anyway, this is what it was about.

I hope that everyone can forgive me and I hope that we still can have a shoot, I know not like the one we have had.  Maybe food and drink, we could have it at my house.  I know the wife would like that

Well anywho, that is what happened.  Any questions, plz ask, Ill try to answer it.

we live in a society that needs someone to blame...

so i'm ok with blaming coltgunner.  not only am i full of shit, but i wasn't there this spring, because i was shooting pdogs in the snow...

only kidding on the blame of course.  if you really feel compelled i'll let you buy me a drink...

i ordinarily wouldn't accept it, but considering i have a significant drinking problem this may work out well for both of us...

i look forward to discussing this over brew at the next raffle.  isn't that coming up right away?

Coltgunner, you did everything you knew to do, you talked to all the right people.  it is just too bad that someone couldnt give true and accurate information.  that isnt your fault.  i never "kill the messanger", as all too often i am just merely a messanger.
i am ready willing and able to go do some bump firing at yale anytime...........it is almost like auto(just a bit more work)

Coltgunner:

Ain't nothin' to forgive- doesn't seem to me that you did anything wrong.  I have been to two of these shoots at Bays Branch and can remember LE arriving, watching and leaving.  Sounds like whoever was reading this from the DNR was hoping to get us in trouble.

No harm done... we just gotta find a different place
