I'll ask here on the PA board as well.

Here is the question of the year. First of all, I already have a Florida CCW as a NJ resident. This of course has reciprocity with PA.

PA law says that you must first have a CCW in your own state if they issue them. Of course NJ is a shall-issue state. But how many CCW's are we seeing issued ? NONE !

My ultimate question is this: Has any NJ resident applied for and received a PA Non-Resident CCW ? If yes, where, what county, what Sheriff, etc. I'd rather have the PA CCW than try to explain to a LEO that may not know about the FL/PA reciprocity.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Move to a free state !  I will after my kids go to college, three years.

It's not really answering your question, but:

(e) Issuance of license.
(1) A license to carry a firearm shall be for the
purpose of carrying a firearm concealed on or
about one's person or in a vehicle and shall be
issued if, after an investigation not to exceed 45
days, it appears that the applicant is an individual
concerning whom no good cause exists to
deny the license. A license shall not be issued to
any of the following:

(ix) A resident of another state who does not
possess a current license or permit or similar
document to carry a firearm issued by that state if a license is provided for by the laws of that
state
, as published annually in the Federal Register
by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and
Firearms of the Department of the Treasury under
18 U.S.C. 921(a)(19)(relating to definitions).

To get a PA license you have to copy a picture of your state license (I think) because PA has no qaulifications to get a license; Show up sign a form take a picture and boom you get it..  But if you don't have a CCW from your state.....

Get a Flroida CCW.  There is a guy that teaches a the class like once a week in Eastern PA near Philly.  He does the paperwork for you, fingerprints, photo, and gives a certificate that says "good job"

Google: Personal Defense Solutions

I just took the class last week and it was pretty good.  Just waiting for my license now.....

Looks like it answers the question pretty well.

No permit in home state = no permit in PA.

I don't beleive FL has that requirement.  I know plenty of people in Jersey with the FL non-resident CCW.  It's all we can do over here.  Actually, it's good in 28 states.

Going back one step, NJ is shall issue.  You just have to prove the need for one.  There is no Judge in this state that will allow one unless you are an armored car guy or security.  Even those are limited to on-duty only.  Well, at least my Mom has a time share in the Poconos.  I'll pack then.
