I might trade to a friend an open bolt semi mac for these 2 pistols. Any thoughts would be appreciated. It also has the bullet proof/vest  original case, 3 mags, manual, loader and is new(unfired) am I wrong?

I would never trade away an open bolt semi MAC...  I kick myself for not buying one years ago and would just about kill for one now.  The other end of that trade are both guns that are easily available and still in production.  Don't do it.

Why would anyone want an open bolt *semi* MAC10?  A big, heavy, clunky, inaccurate pistol?

What is the advantage of a MAC10 like that over a glock with a 30 round mag?

An open bolt mac is the easiest to convert to FA..............

Yes, but highly illegal unless you are a Class 2 manufacurer, or a LE AGENCY (not individual officer). I can understand the "just in case" mentality, but personally, I think a semi-auto open bolt M10 has absolutely no practical purpose. The open bolt design itself ruins any possible chance at accuracy, and the weapon is too large for any practical concealed carry.

That said, they can still be fun to shoot.
