Folks,

We're in a dead heat now for the next 8 days and there is still time to make a difference in key races. If you think that you're "involved" and aren't out there working for a candidate, then you deserve what you get come January.

Right now, time is more important than money and you need to contact a campaign and work the phones, knock on doors, wave signs or work the polls Nov 7.

Here it is directly from a campaign as related by Phil Lee:\

Helen Monath's message below can't be improved by me. If you aren't working
for a candidate at the moment and you think you are an activist, you should
sign up.

The only sure way to lose is by not competing.

Phil

Dear Phil,

I'm glad you were able to help on Saturday--I
can't do weekends, as my work schedule is a bit
odd, but have been showing up for phones the mornings and evenings I'm off.

I'm disappointed our bunch hasn't turned out in
droves to support him. All it takes is an hour or
two of an evening, not a life-long commitment. If
each of us does a bit as we can, we'd have this
covered. I don't have any lists, beyond personal
friends (yes, I've been trying to recruit them!),
so if you have contacts, please drive this home.

All it takes for the wrong people to win is for
the right people to stand around and do nothing because they're too busy!

Thank you for being willing to put your time where your beliefs are!

Helen

"Maryland Shall Issue is an all volunteer, non-partisan effort dedicated to the preservation and advancement of all gunowners' rights in Maryland, with a primary goal of CCW reform to allow all law-abiding citizens the right to carry a concealed weapon; and to the education of the community to the awareness that 'shall issue' laws have, in all cases, resulted in decreased rates of violent crime."

Giannetti and McMillan both have PayPal links if you would like to donate. I'm sure others do as well.

Take a look at the other thread "Maryland Shall Issue Update 10-30-06" and find a candidate near you and either work or donate. Time is the better investment at this point IMHO but money can help buy some last minute ads.

Every news outlet is saying that this election is going to come down to who can mobilize their voters.
