Is AMA worth joining? How about for roadside assist?
Is the hawglake thing next weekend worth going to? I see where there was a stink going on about them not allowing colors. Seems like they have recently changed that though.
I honestly have no idea about the AMA , I'm not a member and I haven't checked out what they offer.
Your insurance policy probably has some sort of roadside assist, if not, give me a call and I'll hook up the trailer and get you.
Hawglake is supposed to be a pretty good time, not a ROT or Sturgis, but still pretty good. If your favorite flavors are beer, bands, breasts, and bikes you'll have a good time.
You're right, there was a stink about the colors ban, enough to get the organizers to relent, but you should ask yourself why they thought it was a good idea to begin with.
On a different topic, I've decided to get a haircut.
ETA: One thing the AMA has done that will benefit all riders is to initiate a new study of motorcycle accidents, causes, and ways to reduce fatalities. Oklahoma State University is conducting the study. The last study was the 'Hurt' report authored by Hugh Hurt in 1980 and, while very important, technology and equipment has changed substantially.
