Take care of business, eat at the New Lighthouse and come home in the daylight Monday. Have to go, my wife was awarded the deed to our house at La Cholla and we want to get the papers signed before her greedy brother finds out.

Enjoy, it's getting to the time of the year here that I get to thinking about moving to Mexico or Belize full time.

Show me a poll with a sample size over 1,000 with Hillary leading and I'll start to worry.

Right. People blow my mind. I refuse to believe anyone who talks shit about Trump is anything other than a government troll or a completely brainwashed Republican who will do anything his party tells him to.

Given the context of the title of the thread it wasn't easy to tell. I thought the same thing he did.

No kidding.

Wasn't referring to you or anyone really, Tim.

The thread title is just a little confusing regarding its context.

We are a bit worried about the Mexican reaction to Gringos should Trump (who I support) begin actually closing the border and building the wall. Our Mexican attorney, who is a close friend, is sending his Mom back to Tucson just to see what will happen.  We were in R P ten years ago when the shrimp fishermen went wild and a half dozen American cars were burnt,  I just want to make certain we have the papers to our now completed Trust in case we have to wait several months before things calm down.

I spent last week in Rocky Point.  We stayed at the Mayan Palace and the people there were fantastic.  Everyone friendly.  I also drove into town several times, stopped at Pensaco Fish Market, Manny's Tequila Factory and the Super Norte for shopping.  I am obviously a Gringo, and was driving a lifted Orange Toyota Tundra.  I stood out like a sore thumb.  I got no hassles from anyone.  Even when I accidentally drove into a residential area, the people were friendly and waved.

We wandered all over the Market where the Point is, El Maracon?  Got introduced to hundreds of deals, but no problems at all.   Went to Wredcked on the Reef, went on a cruise, went fishing and not a bad word was said by anyone we heard and we had a person who was fluent in Spanish with us.

Just another reason not to travel to Mexico.

It's like traveling to Chicago and expecting it to be nice.

People should only be worried if they are here illegally, and then they shouldn't be here in the first place. Letting them stay here, and giving them government assistance is a slap to the face to those who went the legal route.

Honestly, just about everything you go to Mexico for can easily be found in the South-West United States.

We find the same thing.  Find the same thing in the Southwest.  I grew up in Tucson.  After military service I was a teacher in Ajo when the mines were 100%.  I bought a home on the beach for $3k and it appraised at $300K last year.  We have one of the best beaches anywhere and the tide comes up to our fence.  We go only 2-3 times a year but our kids go often

In 30 years I've never seen a Gringo who wasn't looking for trouble get into it.  However if you want trouble you can find it.

If i couldn't live in the US anymore I'd move to Mexico. All the people that hate so hard on Mexico have never spent any real time in the country other than as drunk assholes in border towns, IMO.

Only in the restricted zones(100 km of the borders, and 50km of an ocean) is outright ownership by foreigners impossible.

In my family's case my wife's Aunt and Uncle are Mexican citizens; they own a lot of property in Guaymas that was paid for by family members who are now or have always been US citizens.

We went there again and got the Trust in my wife's name and our attorney filed the legal work for us to own the concession on the beach in front of our house.
