Kinda got into these within the last couple weeks, as I was able to get them soooooo cheap.

I figured they would be a great way to my 3 gun gear at matches. Seem to run fine, but I know they will not last.....but at the price I got them for, I don't care. These are those 150cc motors that they copied off the Honda GY6 design. have pretty suspension, ATV tires and a reverse. My 14yo son thinks they are the bomb....but at that age....go figure.

Anyways....anyone else have these (Dustin used to have one).....do you use it alot? We've got a place close to my home where a private ATV club bought some land, so we joined and can go there anytime to ride.

Yeah...this 50yo guy can fit in them and have fun too.

Don't get me wrong....I agree with you 100%

The only thing is.....if anyone took inventory of what they have in their household and what they've purchased over the last year.....it would scare them silly over just what they have thats made over there. And it's way more than anyone thinks. And it sucks bigtime.

But I'm not wanting to turn this into a political debate.....I get enough of that on TV every day.

At work we have one of those SAW249 airsoft machineguns that could be mounted to the roll cage.....but that would just be way too much fun

My wife is going to use it to haul around the garden cart at home......never mind that we have a riding lawnmower and honda 4 wheeler that can do a better job at that......I'm thinking that was part of the 'justification procedure"

Bought mine used, total cost for both machines....running, and running well....$1100. You can buy them new for about $1300 to $1800 shipped to your door for the 150cc version. The 250cc version goes for more. We've been racing them around some land that has ATV trails near the house. Good cheap way for my son and I to have fun. So now, not only do we shoot together, we ride together.

Putting that Suzuki motor in that.....while it would be a MAJOR ton of funnage.....probably would not cut the muster with my better half. Presently, they top out at just about 40mph....and on the trails, for me.....thats fast enough.

Parts....really are not an issue. In the last 4 years, they've actually become pretty popular. You can buy a complete motor for under $400 (I bought one for $212.00) for the one buggy that had a blown motor, when I bought it.

I know the ATV's are really popular with getting kids involved with the 110's going new for $800 or less......the dune buggies seem to be really big down south and in the south west as well.

At 40MPH.....the tach reads 7000rpm. And yes, they will blow up if constantly run at that. On the trails, I'd say more like 25MPH running around 3K to 5K is more like it. People say red line is 9000, I'm thinking I'd have parts all over if I ever got the motor that wound up.

Quality is NOT the chinese major concern for sure.....I've got one buggy with a motor that leaves the classic pre 80's Harley oil puddle on the floor. I am sure the gaskets and assembly have alot to be desired. Oh, I know what I got into......and I refuse to pay alot for this stuff......bottom line.....Its fun. Can't get arrested for that, well, maybe if I break the law.

We've run them about 5 hours so far.....and haven't had to mess with them, but I am still mixed on how long they will actually last.

I think I'll draw the line at toys.
