Gave me goose flesh when I heard him say that today. Boys and girls you know that means, he needs "Storm Troopers" to collect the guns.

Scared the shit out of me

I'm no Obama supporter, but I think he was talking about a "civilian national security force" in terms of an army of diplomats, not a "federal civilian police force."

I didn't get the impression he was talking about diplomats. "Civilian national security force" sounds a lot like natioal police force to me. I just don't like the sound of it.

Here is the quote:

"We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set," Obama said Wednesday. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."

I would like Obama to explain this one in detail, because I agreee that it scared the hell out of me too.

Right away, I saw comparisons to the brownshirts (Sturmabteilung)of Germany in the 20s and 30s.  After learning about Obama's "truth squad" in Missouri and watching his goons go after Joe the plumber, you get an idea of how strongly he wants to suppress his detractors.

For a guy that chooses his words so carefully, if he meant something else, he would have chosen different words.

Did you watch the entire video, or just the little clip? It's all about context.

Here's the whole thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df2p6867_pw

Right around 14:45 he starts talking about increasing Americorp from 75,000 positions to 250,000, creating an "EnergyCorp," increase the size of the foreign service and open more consulates, and double the size of the Peace Corps, THEN he makes the comment.

He IS NOT talking about a bunch of brown shirts coming to take your guns.
Obama is horrible, I voted against him, but this chicken little bullshit is getting ridiculous.

My prediction is massive military cuts, with VASTLY increased spending on the agencies he mentioned, coupled with massive tax increases.

Of course, why watch anything the opposing side has to say so that you'll be informed about their plans? lt's much better to just continue to spit hyperbole and distort the facts without educating yourself.

You are giving himm way too much benefit of the doubt on your context argument.  Sure he was talking about expanding Americorps and the peace corps but he wants a civilian force to take care of national security that is powerful like the military.

Sounds like brown shirts to me.  The Soviets did it too.

To take this into context one also has to keep in mind that Obama has totally cut off any media source that doesn't lap up his BS.  So far every person (and entity that employed that person) who has asked the tough questions about Obama's "change" or his ties to so many Islamic radicals and socialists has been punished and cut off.

The reporter in Florida and her station - cut off, Washington Times - cut off, New York Post - cut off,  and of course we all know what happened to Joe the plumber.  He asked one question and made a comment about how he didn't want his taxes to go up and the Obamanation attacked him (as if he is an enemy of the state) mercilessly.

Of course Joe the plumber must be crazy, that's it,  he disagrees with the messiah so he must be.

I did watch the whole speech and felt that his civilian security force comments stood out among the rest of his proposals in stark contrast.  I felt he gave the military service just enough deference because of the specific audience in front of him.  And then stated that he wants to start another security force that is just as powerful as the military that he has shown little respect for.  Remember this is a man who lives and dies on his prepared speeches - they are his biggest asset.  This is his strength so why did he choose these words?

I did not say that he was going to form some kind of goon squad to knock on my door and take my guns.  I stated that Obama's aggressive suppression tactics against those that speak out against him coupled with the national security force that he spoke of reminded me of the kinds of thugs that were put into service in Germany in the 20s and 30s.

Has anyone asked Obama what he meant by this?  As I stated above, I would like him to explain it.  I am not jumping to conclusions but I am allowed to make comparisons based upon the info that I have.  I go one step further than putting his words into context with the rest of this speech, I put it into context with his past actions as well as his positions on other issues that concern me.  When I put his words into that context, from my point of view I don't find any relief in what he said.

Just as we must value and encourage military service across our society, we must honor and expand other opportunities to serve. Because the future of our nation depends on the soldier at Fort Carson, but it also depends on the teacher in East LA, or the nurse in Appalachia, the after-school worker in New Orleans, the Peace Corps volunteer in Africa, the Foreign Service officer in Indonesia. . . .

Today, AmeriCorps – our nation’s network of local, state and national service programs – has 75,000 slots. And I know firsthand the quality of these programs. My wife Michelle once left her job at a law firm at city hall to be a founding director of an AmeriCorps program in Chicago that trains young people for careers in public service. These programs invest Americans in their communities and their country. They tap America’s greatest resource – our citizens.

That’s why as President, I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots, and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their efforts connected to a common purpose. People of all ages, stations, and skills will be asked to serve. Because when it comes to the challenges we face, the American people are not the problem – they are the answer.

So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We’ll call on Americans to join an Energy Corps to conduct renewable energy and environmental cleanup projects in their neighborhoods all across the country. We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, to be there for our military families. And we’re going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered, and double the size of Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy.

We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.

Do we not already have multiple government agencies which provide national security?  We already have a National Guard, Homeland Security, etc.  Why spend more of my money on something that will serve a purpose which is currently being taken care of by other groups that already have their hand in my pocket?

Because:

  1. The intention is not to serve the same purpose.

  2. He will be spending your money, so will take as much as he wants.

  3. Current US Armed forces might have an issue being deployed to provide the kind of "Fatherland Security" Obama and his ilk envisage being necessary. Therefore it is necessary to create a well funded personal army for "the messiah"

But what do I know? I mean, it's not like my ancestors escaped Germany and have seen this (National Socialism with a charismatic leader, calls for improved internal security, blame of specific groups for all ills, etc.) all before.

But still, go search "obama cult" & "civilian security force", there are so many videos of his black army and his quotes, I spent almost 48 hours watching it. I normally NEVER venture to GD here, but I stumbled into it the other day and heard about it for the VERY FIRST time. Those videos had me very scared and the whole family. We honestly believe he is planning a holocaust.

BO will raise our taxes to fund his security force. The security force will be our well paid neighbors that are on or will be on government assistance. And they will all become his spies and will be spying on you and what you are doing and what you have in your house, be it guns, ammo, safe full of money, whatever he feels he needs to know about to control the people. He will know all and will take all.

Cheers, everyone better lay low for the next four years and hopefully the next election we will get are freedom back..........that is of coarse if he wins tonight.

Yes, but even though he has both houses of Congress by a lot, and therefore there is no reason he cannot do what he wants, if things are not utopian, he willblame his adversaries.  Hopefully that will start with the previous administration, but I feel he will not stop there.

We already have the police, National Guard, & some state militias.  What else could we possibly need here in America?  Civilians wouldn't be deployed to other countries.

Can you say "Hitlers Youth"?

Storm troopers assembled to confiscate weapons sounds about right to me.

Don't buy from businesses, buy from your buddy or another personal party - no paper trail.  Ever heard of the national confiscation data base?  Have you ever listened to all the information the clerk gives the state and feds about you and the gun when doing a background check?

I know for a fact that in Oregon if you have a teaching credential, the credential office in Salem has records of when the State Police was hit for a records check.

They put a reason on there also.

Deal with it...

When school districts see your record.....they see that part also.....

I gave up teaching because of the amount of firearms I have.....

Thank you Mr State Police.

He's Marxist and yes they will be of the brown shirt variety. Regardless of your take on it, a 1.5 Million man force beholden only to the president is never a good thing. As far as context goes I would say his entire speech reflects the fabian socialist agenda. Sacrifice, Austerity and compulsory service(completely unconstitutional) and redistribution of wealth are his main objectives. Read, destruction of the middle class.

But hey, Bush already shredded the constitution and now the non-U.S. citizen *bama will inherit the power. So no, *bama will not be forcing any of my family to "serve" least of all under the guise of it's for my "protection".

*edit*
Rahm Emanuel is a dual citizen- self proclaimed "Israeli First", Israeli Military and Mossad agent. Not to forget his key role in AWB under Clinton and the major player in NAFTA. These are just some facts for people crying about "aluminum foil"
