What parts are needed besides the kit?

Where do I get rivet sets?

What tools are we going to need?

Who's gonna weld the rails?

Who's going to heat treat the receivers?

Who's going to Park them?

Just get your Tapco G2 FCG for now, as for the rest

1. I have a set for you (I order'd a extra set) call it payback for raiding your parts..(as long as you are going with a standard AK set)

2. I have what you will need (for now), Sixgunns is going to bring a flat bending jig..

3. You and me ( I have access to the brother in laws wire feed, but I may just buy a spot welder when I get the cash.)

4. see #3

5. We are not going to park them, You are going to paint them with Duracoat.

Hi Bunny - does that mean you have a kit?  Which kind did you get?  What are you gonna build out of it?  Will it have a folding stock?  What kind of furniture?  What kind of muzzle device?  7.62 or 5.45?  When will I be able to shoot it?

Now those are the important questions.

Down lawyer, down!!! I got the receiver flats (2). I'm working on scrounging up a kit. If I have the money, I'll get a 7.62mm Polish underfolder for you to play with, otherwise a straight stock Romanian or Hungarian with a slant brake. You should be able to shoot it at next spring's LCR.

Everything you posted after that comment can or will be used against you in a Court of Law...

I already have a polish underfolder and a straight stock Romanian that I haven't had a chance to play with.  Build something else cool that I can dream about shooting someday.   I think you really need to turn one of those flats into a AK pistol.

I saw midwest has flats in packs of 5 and rivets/screw sets for the builds.   I'm thinking of ordering up a few flats and kidnapping senior Bunny to help me get some receivers done.

I seem to remmember something about having to shave down the trunion's to fit receivers of that thickness????.. I guess if you have a mill that is OK..

If you guys care to travel over to the Tri-cities area, I have all the tools you might need.  We have put 6ish AK's together now.

Midwest has good deals. Hoplo74 (was with me after the last funshow at the Robe pit) from over at Gunsnet is local and makes pistol rear trunnions and sells rivet sets and keeps a table at the show in Puyallip. Matt at Blackwell Arms in Mukilteo does great park work and offered to do a park party sometime, he also keeps a table at the WAC shows. Heat treating is easy, use water to quench (ask me how I know), heat to orange, quench, heat until you see a widening cicle of color from the center of the hole turn an irridescent blue, air cool--WD-40 the receiver rigt away as they rust way fast..

A great big +1 here for Mike "The Duke" Ryan at Midwest Armory. I did some business with him earlier this year that PayPal thoughtfully scrambled on us, and he was stalwart and timely throughout. He's fast to ship, courteous, and an all-around great guy, and Alli is a total doll! Not much to add except that he has had the best prices around for the G2 trigger packs. Well worth doing business with.

ETA: Six kits and counting. Oh, and the two Chinese guns from before the ban. Eat your heart out, Mac!
