@Hill_monkey I got 2 of the new overwatch precision mp5 mags today.  Hope to test the out this weekend.  Might be viable alternatives considering the price

Well the price is definitely right!

I’ll have to snag a few, thanks for the heads up.

Hey, that's me in the 3rd photo with the hat, ear pro, and head lamp on!

Nice meeting some of you out at the night shoot.  I always enjoy meeting new people, talking gear, and general BSing.

Hoping to get my R2 suppressor and pray everything is concentric.  The JMAC brake with alignment rod looks pretty damn good.  Will have to alternate with this for this winter.
Will need a laser/illuminator as well.

Got a Primary Arms 1x Micro Prism today.  Figured I'd do a little comparison between the Aimpoint T2, Eotech EXPS 3.0 and the PA 1x Micro Prism.
My opinion: Eotech is the king of night vision.  T2 is pretty good.  The PA Micro Prism definitely can work but you have to adjust the focus ring.  Which means its only ever good for either NVG shooting or focused for daytime shooting.
So if you were to transition from night to "light" situation, it might be pretty hard to use.  If you were going using it for a duty/mil optic I think its fine for what it is.

Shooting from odd positions while timed.
Having an optic that you can dial in is helpful, which we learned last year.

It's a fun way to spend a few hours on a Sunday and you're not blasting expensive ammo.

That looks interesting. Are the targets steel plates? What's the approximate max range for that shoot?

About ten years ago a member here on the other side of the state set up a rimfire shoot. There was a variety of very different stages, but the one I really liked was 20 3" steel swingers every 10 yards out to 200 yards. You had 10 minutes, as much ammo as you were willing to use, and a spotter, to hit them all. That was a lot of fun, and not easy. No one there had really high dollar equipment or scopes you could dial in that I can recall. For that stage I had a suppressed CZ452 16"; scope was a semi cheap Weaver with a simple ballistic reticle (just like 3-4 dots on the vertical crosshair). I had the drops worked out pretty decent, practicing ahead of time, but it was not a FFP scope, so I had to shoot the whole thing on 4x. They got challenging past 100 and very challenging past 150.

Steel plates, yes.

Remember that hill behind the range? There were steel gongs up there

I had to mortar my rounds up there bc my scope was nowhere near the right kind. Still hit one!

Pretty similar, you get divided into squads. Your squad shoots 10 different stages; positions, ranges & targets vary at each stage (even within the same stage). You get two minutes to complete each stage. You could be shooting at a very small target at 10 yards then a big plate at 120.

Nope, just a stopwatch.

There's usually a handful of suppressed rifles there.

I'm sure you could get by with a 10/22 or something.

I'm planning on shooting HP service rifle with a 10/22 the upcoming season.

Hey all you guys who dont have NODS... the time is now! Yinz get your guns out, lube them up and come out and do some shooting. See some cool stuff. Meet some new people.

Dont have plates/PC? No one cares. Dont have an AR all tacticool'ed out, no one cares about that either. Do you get out and shoot it? Shoot while moving? Practice transitioning from handgun/rifle? This is the time and place to do it. Maybe youre just curious... its FREE to watch and learn.

Why do I care? Well because shits getting crazy in this world. Ive learned a lot about shooting the past few years and Ive met some great guys. People like me. Its a great time to meet like minded individuals and network.

Curious or have questions? Feel free to shoot me a PM. Im just some guy who has spent way more money on gear/guns than his wife knows about

Won't be available until after the 13th.

If I show up later on it will not be uber tactical. If anyone asks you WTF I am doing simply say, "He's trying something."

My arms will likely be a somewhat modified 10/22 and a MkIV 22/45.
