Oooops sorry- just looked at this again. With such nice weather have been out fishin', lol, yeah right. I have been home a lot though as my stupid federal agency had closed all the offices in NY state (our rent is high, well, duh) and as a temporary acting supervisor I am running the NY downstate team from my home until they get someone dumb enough to put in for the job full-time. (After 15 years as a supervisor, no thanks!)
Anyway, the f zero tornado touched down about a mile and a half east of me. At that time yesterday we were getting hail, winds from the north at about 50 or so, and very heavy rain. Skies were dark but white at the same time, probably from the wind driven hail and rain (?) Was definitely unique or odd looking. Got spackle buckets out this time of year for fishin' and each had over 2 inches of rain in them afterward. We did lose a big willow (no surprise, shallow rooted, dirty trees) at John Burns Park two blocks from me, but that was just from the wind, which must have been easterly when it was knocked over. Front page of Newday confirmed it.
and whats wrong with Bloomberg- you want a return to Dinkins???
