Today on a popular morning radio talk show in the greater DFW area morning show DJ’s enlightened the population as to how America should change and increase Federal regulation of firearms.  The morning show DJ in question was “Lex” of “Lex and Terry.” They appear on KDGE 102.1 courtesy of Clear Channel Communications.  “Lex and Terry” have arrived in the metroplex on a syndicated morning talk show from Florida.  This morning’s incident is not the first incident of their inclination to attack the 2nd amendment.  In the span of twenty minutes of airtime “Lex” managed to enlighten listeners to his idea of how the Federal government should control and mandate the proliferation of firearms.  Some of his great ideas and comments were as follows: “There should be what amounts to a national gun registry, where every firearm and its sale is catalogued to allow for federal tracking, a mandatory waiting period that is at least six weeks long between the purchase of every firearm, with no multiple firearms purchases, restricting ownership to no more than one of each “type” of firearm IE one rifle, one pistol, one shot gun, a national registry that contains every weapon and its owner that can be viewed by anyone at anytime,  a Federal “red flag hotline” where people could call and report potential/current gun owners as being unstable and barring them from purchase/possession with out trial or evidence, instituting a Federal “backtracking” program to catalog all weapons owners nationwide, not just new owners.  In the past “Lex” has advocated restricting the amount of ammunition that an individual could have in his possession at anytime.  He has also advocated restricting the type(capacity) and number of magazines that an individual would be allowed to possess.
The problem is that these individuals have a wide listening range, are syndicated and have come to OUR state slinging their NY/CA liberal filth.  Under their own admission, when individuals contact the radio station or parent company they do not really log the complaint unless the individual filing the complaint falls into a prime demographic category for the show/station. When contacting the show and the parent company you need to include your ethnicity, age, average median income, and education level.  I am in the process of constructing a letter to the station and to the show expressing my extreme distaste of the show.  I will post my letter shortly.  I invite you all to engage in this local firemission to shut these individuals up on this issue (it is unlikely that they will be removed).

My letter to KDGE marketing and "the Lex and Terry show,"

To Whom It May Concern:
I am a white male, 28 yrs old, college educated, and married.  I am a Sgt. in the United States Marine Corps and a teacher at a local high school.

I am writing today to express my discontent at the program content of this mornings broadcast of the “Lex and Terry Show.”  On April 18, 2007 from 0645 to 0710 “Lex” unintelligently and forcefully espoused his personal views with the expressed intention of eroding my constitutional rights.

As a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, I am sickened by the fact that he would suggest destroying the right second only to our freedom of speech and worship.  After today I will be boycotting the “Lex and Terry Show” and will return to enjoying my IPod on the hour long drive to work.  I will also begin boycotting any products that have been advertised on “Lex and Terry.”  I moved to Texas in order to escape the forced liberal agenda that “Lex” spewed over the radio this morning.  If he is unhappy with the availability of firearms in this state or in America I encourage him to put his money where his mouth is and move to New York or California where individual rights are subject to the whim of the state.  I do not appreciate anyone using access to the airwaves to exercise a personal vendetta against an established legal right that has been in existence since the founding of this nation.  I would like to reference all involved parties to the career of Jim Zumbo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Zumbo) in regards to this issue.  While I alone may not be able to create a change, you should know that I will be including today’s topic in my lesson plans. I plan on calling on the thousand or so students I interact with daily to also boycott the “Lex and Terry Show” and any product mentioned within.  In addition I will be organizing a number of local gun rights groups to begin contacting Clear Channel and KDGE marketing  as well as the “Lex and Terry Show” to express my discontent with the program content and my subsequent intent not to support any products or services advertised on “Lex and Terry.”  Further more, I will be contacting the companies and individuals who do advertise on “Lex and Terry” to inform them of these actions and the reason behind them.

I am insulted and outraged that “Lex” believes he has the ability to come to my state and tell me what I can and can not do with the rights that I have fought to defend.  I would further add that “Lex” should limit himself to simply working to expand or support constitutional rights, rather than diminish or restrict them until he has the intestinal fortitude to put himself in harms way to secure all of our rights.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Have you seen their ratings.  Trust me, you havent a thing to worry about.  They are not in the top 10 or 20 in town, nor are they top 10 or 20 in any of their targeted demographs.  In the 90's they were here in Dallas, and syndicated but they got shitcanned for bad ratings.  The same is going to happen again soon.

Just listen to Russ martin, at 1500hrs every weekday on 105.3.  Trust me, you'll likie.

My reply, (looks like one of them is a liberal, using typical liberal tactics of changing the subject.)
No, You are entitled to free speech.  I never stated that you were not allowed your opinion.  I disagree with your use of an elevated pundit (the radio) to advance an unconstitutional view point. As a former listener and consumer I reserve the right to exercise my spending power and influence to keep your opinion off the air.

I appreciate your attempt to change the subject and misdirect the issue though.
If you believe what you say, why did you move to one of the most firearm friendly states in the union?

Also, it would be written as "...high school, contradiction 101?"

Well this dork just don't get it.

He's advocating that the Federal Govt. do something to stifle our rights. You are not soliciting the Govt. to stifle his opinion or voice, only his sponsors. He should go back to high school and re-take Govt. 101.
