i feel kind of foolish asking, but should i know what an appleseed shoot is?

Nope, no reason to feel foolish. They've only been around a couple years and are becoming more common as the program spreads across the country. 2008 has seen close to 120 Appleseed Shoots scheduled this year but I think there have only been 2 in Iowa and this will be the first in MN. There have been some good articles written on the program in various sporting magazines and all reviews have been very positive. Check out the RWVA web site and a google search should turn up even more. I attended the April shoot at Brownell's Big Springs Shooting Complex and was very happy with it. That's why I worked to set one up in MN.

Check out the RWVA website or if you get Shotgun News and read Fred's column, 2nd page of his 2 page ad for Fred's Stocks in EVERY Shotgun News, as he talks about it in length. He even advertises a book that is set in Iowa that looks like a type of Red Dawn story except not high school students, I've been meaning to order it for years but always forget.
