Ok. I think we decided that Labor Day weekend would be the best day for the next big pit shoot. So, we will do it on that Sunday the 4th. Is that OK with everyone?

We have changed it from Saturday to Sunday because many people have expressed that they prefer Sunday.

So, who all will be there?

Goose hunt or Pit shoot?

I have a buddy who I think will be back in town that weekend from CA.. He is a Navy Seal who is currently fighting cancer. If he is in town I might see if I can drag him out. I am sure a couple hour diversion is something he would welcome.

Not to be rude or anything, but that sounds like he was deployed on a mission to combat cancer. Sorry to hear that though. Hopefully he pulls through. Good luck!

So does that mean you'll be there? There is still a AR-18 out there I need to shoot.

I would say the odds of my being there will be quite high. It will all depend on what other curve balls life throws me before then. Currently dealing with some, as of yet unresolved, medical issues but it is always fun to join up with other BR enthusiasts for some trigger time.

And yes, the AR18 will be with me if I can make it. Would love to let you run the Reising as well but I still haven't got the darned ejector replaced.

For the folks who have never been here, there are homes in the area. We probably shouldn't start shooting till about 10:00 so as not to agitate folks more than needed.

The parking lot is quite small but you can park in the road. All cars parked on the road should stay on the east side (same side as the pit) of the road. If the Sheriffs Dept. stops by, as they have done in the past, they will make any cars parked on the west side of the road move.

There are no benches or target stands. There is usually no real shortage of junk to shoot at though.

Ya know Lumpy, a GOOD goose hunter would have his limit in time to make it to a pit shoot :)

P.S. if you wanna borrow my gans dog you just let me know. They hunt honkers in Bavaria too ya know?

It was a good time, a lot less formal than in the past. As usual, a group of people showed up later in the day that managed to raise a few eyebrows.. At least this time they (Hood-Rats) weren't doing anything unsafe.

I need to skip sleep to go shooting more often!
