Please pay attention to bill S-1431 and HR 2038 as they may effect you as the new weapons being banned are much more widespread. Please check the links below to see if you own a firearm intended to be newly banned.
The new law will reinstates the assault weapons ban and is written so that it will never sunset!!!
The last portion is very scary and does cover "Sniper or long range weapons"

A few of the new firearms added to the list:
M1 Garand's
M14's
M1A's
M1 Carbines
AR-15's
Armalite M-15's
Olympic Arms PCR's
Bushmaster XM-15's
SKS's
AK-47's
AK-74's
FN/FAL's
Olympic Arms OA
MAC-10, MAC-11, or MPA3
HK-91, HK-93, HK-94, or HK-PSG-1
MAK-90's
(Long Range "Sniper rifles" are in question here)

a firearm based on the design that is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes or a firearm procured for use by the United States military or any Federal law enforcement agency is not particularly suitable for sporting purposes, and a firearm shall not be determined to be particularly suitable for sporting purposes solely because the firearm is suitable for use in a sporting event.

Even the Sportsmen for Kerry/Edwards site is shocked by this new bill:
www.sportsmenforkerryedwards.com/s1431.htm

As shown in the 2000 election every vote is important so take the time to vote!!!

Senate bill 1431 has been introduced to the Senate and it has full backing of John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, Charles Schumer and a long list at the bottom of this message.

Please take the time to look at the bill at:
www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/953218/posts

Here is a list of sponsors of the bill and I hope you all will remember their names at vote time:

In 1941 Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto who was educated at Harvard University said that the reason Japan will never successfully invade the mainland of the United States was because "there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass."

How quickly we forget the hard lessons that history has taught us.

great quote.  I am buying up starlight cases.  not just cause they are amazing, but IF this legislation ever does pass (or any other draconion edict), I am outta dodge.

I got me  property in the golan, and on the drop of a dime I'm on elal with my collection on bottom of the plane. We're gonna need an ar15.com hometown section for Israel.  Property is big enough for a range too.  Plus since I've done two years of  mishmar ezrachi, I'm exempt from the army.

you're all invited.

Unbelievable how they disguise it by giving it the title "Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2003".  If these lawmakers were serious about protecting the law enforcement community, they would stiffen the penalities for assault on LEO's and resisting arrest, etc.
As far as HR 2038/ S1431, it's old and was defeated.  But keep an eye out, it will probably pop up in January with a new number....

Just remember that Kerry has seen first hand what guns in the hands of peasants, er civilians can do and being the elitiest that he is, frearms in the hands of common people whould be disasterious to their plans.
I think the only resion Kerry hasn't said the movie Apoclypse Now (sp) was baised on his life story is the memory of what happened to Gore when he announced that he created the internet and "Love Story" was baised on his life.
Fucking arrogant ass-clowns.

I believe this is the bill sponsored by representative McCarthy out of Long Island.  Her estranged husband and son were the ones shot on the Long Island Railway by Colin Ferguson.  Now don't quote me on this as it could have been the NY subway and I may have the shooters name incorrect but I believe it is accurate.  In any event, as a result she got into politics and anti-rights has been her agenda.  These are old bills but they certainly can pop back at anytime.  They will be pushing hard for something like this after the new year, especially if Kerry gets in.

don't get me started re; mccarthy.  If only more were armed on the LIRR that day. IF only she propsed moderate bills, she might've written ONE bill that passed (she hasn't).  If only we could try some people for treason!

The two most important names not on the list:
Tom Delay (Majority leader R-Texas)
Jim Sensenbrenner (Chairman, Judiciary Committee, R-Wisconsin)

As long as the house remains in republican control, a new AWB doesn't stand a chance. That goes double if Kerry somehow manages to get elected.

It was the Long Island Rail Road. He specifically targeted whites and asians. He felt they were oppressing him. Used a pair of Ruger P85s. Rep. McCarthy seems to be running on the premise that attacking the weapons she felt responsible for the destruction of her family will somehow bring them back. Even with outright handgun ban, no gun control in existence would have saved her husband and son from a perp determined to commit mass murder. The MTA of NY launched the program to give Police officers free rides on both the LIRR and Metro-North to increase the armed presence. Up until that time, it was well known that cops avoided all public transportation since the department even now gives cops a hard time in any off duty incident, especially involving firearms.

If NYS laws and its citizens weren't so pussified and liberal...Colin Fergeson would not have been able to get 3 shots off on that fateful day.  God rest the souls who perished that day.
