are they stocking good gear. optics lights maybe clothing? gonna have to check it out.

There was a rack of black jackets on the wall, but that was pretty much it for clothing. They have all the long guns hung on the walls and nothing in the center of the store currently. They had AR's and accessories behind the counter, but I didn't take a close look at anything. I did notice 2 large boxes of AR and AK pre-ban mags. |

I just stopped out there. The boys have only been open for 10 days and they have made quite a few sales.
The place looks a lot better than before and they actually had stock!! They were placing more orders as I was standing there. Best of luck to them. |

i agree with prices down in the lower part of the state its nuts... picked up a rifle out of buffalo area last year 300.00 cheaper than here. i don't mind paying a little bit more but damm i can buy another gun for that price.

Those $400 AKs you see in Shotgun News were probably bought for less than $100 and either the magwell was opened and parts swapped out, or they came as a $50 or less kit and were built on a blank. Do you have a problem with them making $200 on the gun after they put their time in? When we say rent we forget about all the other costs dealers face. Employees, taxes, insurance, governmental compliance, attorneys, accountants, utilities. When all is said and done, how much of that $220 is actually ending up in the dealer's pocket as profit? While I agree a $220 premium is too high, without knowing the dealer's expenses I can't say how "too high" it is. The gun business is the greatest way to start out rich and end up poor if not done right. It is also a hell of way to make a good living if your stomach can handle the ulcers. Good luck to the new guys on the block. Always love to see a black rifle friendly shop! |
