I want to built an AR pistol.  Basicly a registered pistol lower, w/ a 7.5 inch upper to start with.

My question is, does ANYONE in this state know of a dealer that'll do that for me?

TIA.

Nevermind!  I just realized that Olympic arms is like 10 minutes away from my house!

I'm really excited about this project.  A shooting buddy of my always says to me "Dood, why don't you get a pistol?"  Blah blah blah ... personally, (just my own damn opinon), I think pistols are only good for getting to your AR.  Then I thought to myself ... what if I can NEVER get to my AR when SHTF?

BAM!  AR pistol of course!  Imagine something that's sized like a huge pistol, uses 30-40 round mags (Clips - For Phil).  Awesome.

Yes, the 7.5 upper would probably be bad for bullistics.  I've been thinking about a 11" or a 10.5" upper for it.  Still deciding.

This is going to be one KICK ASS pistol!

Did I say I was building a SBR?  No.

Is this weapon registered as a pistol?  Yes.

Does it have a front handle making it a AOW?  No.

Does it have a stock that makes it a SBR?  No.

Is it legal in the state of WA?  Yes.

Your point is?

I made the assumption that it was like the OA93 from Olympic arms: www.olyarms.com/index2.php?page=featured_products

If that is chambered to fire .223 isn't that considered a short barreled rifle?
I have wanted one since it came about but thought it was illegal in WA.

Am I wrong or are you using one chambered for 9mm or something pistol caliber?

The key is a stripped lower.  All lowers when they come out of the factory are at a "virgin" state, at this point if they are registered as a pistol, you can build a pistol out of them w/ following restrictions.

1.  No stock.  A stock makes it a SBR.
2.  No front vertical grip, makes it a AOW.

As far as I know, the chambering has nothing to do w/ it.  If you want a QA-03, you have to go through the typical 5-7 day wait just like buying another pistol.
