Anybody know/had experience with a Smith that can thread a barrel?

I'm in Western KY, so anyone from Louisville to Evansville IN would be good.

By the way....how much does this usually cost for an HBAR AR barrel?

Thanks.

The guy at the Shell Shop in Hopkinsville, KY has threaded AR barrels for me before. In fact he's done all of my AR work

IIRC the cost was around $50.

I've heard of "that guy' and he has a pretty good reputation.

Yes, as of September 13, 2004 you are good to go on your 20" project.

(A few technicalities dealing with staying over 16" unless you do the SBR route, or permanently attach a device to keep the barrel over 16" etc, but that doesn't apply to your case)

If you take your barrel to the Shell Shop please tell them Steve sent you.

I'll probably go to HopTown then. I'll tell them you sent me Steve. I wonder what a turn around time is.

Do you think he would cut and thread a FAL barrel?

I am the gunsmith there so take this as you see fit. I have done several and have no problems.

He knows his stuff! Well he did 10 years ago, so I assume he knows even more now.
