Not a surprise, but always nice to hear...

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR ALABAMA MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION

On July 29 the U.S. Senate took a giant step forward toward saving the American firearms industry from potentially bankrupting lawsuits, and Alabama's two senators helped lead the fight.

The U.S. Senate voted 65 to 31 to pass S. 397, "The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act," which will protect law-abiding firearms manufacturers and retailers from predatory lawsuits.

Senators Jeff Sessions and Richard Shelby both cosponsored S. 397, voted against all gutting amendments, and supported final passage. Additionally, Senator Sessions spoke in strong support of this legislation on the Senate floor several times during the debate. Below, we have shared with you excerpts from one of his speeches advocating passage of this bill.

NRA-ILA encourages you to thank senators Jeff Sessions and Richard Shelby this week for the solid work they have done for America's gun owners and sportsmen by strongly supporting S. 397.

I got to meet Shelby once at a town hall meeting. I asked him about gun control issues. He said the people of Alabama sent him to the senate to ensure our 2nd amendment rights were protected.
