And?

Serious question, not dogging on this theme but:

Not to ignore that the Dems run the state, but would it be fair to say that much of this is from the the reservations skewing the data heavily?

Would it also be accurate to say that much of the crime and similar stains on NM are heavily represented by ABQ and Sante Fe so that once you get to "the rest" of NM that these problems are no more than typical?

I really want to know, because we've looked at NM in our plans to get out of CO but we're ruling out ABQ, Santa Fe and looking at smaller towns.

What you are saying is absolutely true.
Abq is largely a shithole, but there are nice, low crime areas even in the abq metro area.
There are a lot of good schools, you just need to seek them out. From everything I’ve seen, the areas with lower crime rates tend to have the better schools.
I guarantee that if. You removed the reservation from the equation, the poverty, welfare, unemployment, etc rates would be much lower. Remove the big metros, and it would be lower yet.

There are plenty of places in this state worth living in, you just have to do your homework.
The biggest issue you will have even in very conservative counties is that the dems will always control this state. The b.s. that happens in Santa Fe will be an issue no matter where you live.

Thanks for the response!

As to Santa Fe being an issue, it's the same in other states:   Denver/Boulder and the Front Range control what happens even on the Western Slope.   The I-5 Corridor controls California, Portland/Eugene control Oregon, etc.   I expect that the huge influx SLC is seeing from Cali it's a foregone conclusion that SLC  will turn blue and UT with it - the LDS church notwithstanding.

I don't know about that.  My old neighborhood in north Rio Rancho is going down the toilet.  We've only been gone two years and our old neighbors are saying there are now some shootings and cars being stolen out of people's driveways.

The problem with NM are all the welfare leaches.  All they care about is free shit from the government. Everyone complains about the crime, lack of jobs, watching their kids leaving the state for other states that have good jobs, the shitty education system, and the drugs from Mexico.  But they are so @#$ stupid that they keep voting for the same people that maintain this screwed up system.

ABQ recently hit 70 for the year for homicides... however its mostly bad guys killing other bad guys, so I dont think anyone really notices.

up over 85% from previous high, already passed previous high with 5 months left.

This has largely been increasing since Obama sent the feds into change the way APD works, after they shot that piece of fucking trash in the heights a few years back (should have shot him sooner)

This was the turning point. ABQ being close to the border, and on the intersection of two major highways is a transient town.  transient towns need to be ruled with an iron fist.

You do if you see the corpse while walking your dog in the same place that you have trusted for the last two decades.  I hate having to pull an 80 pound GSD off a rotting piece of shit while enjoying my day.  If I wanted that shit, I'd go back to the Sandbox.

Albuquacky has turned into a shithole extraordinaire.  That's why the wife and I are leaving this turd-world-city.
