Have a Very Merry Christmas everyone!

First of all, thanks to everyone who has come out during the year and supported the club and the rifle program there.   It has been a safe, successful year for us, and we truly appreciate all the support of the shooters and staff.

We try to have at least one Kalashnikov match a year, and December is it!  We will run them in the extremely popular NJSP CQB Q-Course.

Although we are only ranking Kalashnikov runs for prizes, any rifle may shoot the CoF and get scored against similar platforms.

The NJSP CQB Q-Course is fired from 3 to 50Y and is timed and scored to the .1 of a second.  Required elements include support (the other) shoulder fire, firing from behind barricade, and standing, kneeling and prone fire.  It is the actual Q-Course in every respect except that full-auto fire inside 15Y has been replaced by semi-auto, and the targets will be IDPA cardboard competition targets.

You may register and pay twice if you want to shoot with a different rifle.  It's interesting to compare proficiency with different platforms.  Repeat runs with the same rifle are also possible, but only the first shall count for score.

Note that this is the last match under the 2010 standards and fee structure.  2011 will see some program changes including a switch to mostly IDPA targets, and a larger gap between member and guest match fees.

There may be a low round count, side precision match.  More info on that is to follow so make sure your email address is correct.

Online registration is required, and all of our match announcements always appear here:

http://nhrpc.org/index.php/groups

Thank you, and hope to see you aboard!

I received a few questions on match fee, probably since we are right behind Contagion which was pre-registration AND pre-payment.

This match requires web based pre-registration, but payment is due on match day.  A check made out directly to the club is preferred.

It is a very popular CoF, and it will fill up.  We want everyone who is serious about shooting it to have the opportunity.  Please review our policy on no-shows or last minute cancellations.

If you register, we expect that you will show up.  Even if it's raining there is a covered area you can stay dry under.  I promise - even a noodle-arm choirboy can hack it.

Thanks,

––Fargo007

I've shot the Q course with Fargo before. It's a challenging COF and a good test of skills.

What is the start and end time?

Thanks.

You register to shoot at a certain time slot.  That minimizes the waiting.

We run you through, record the scores and you are on your merry way.  If you want to hang out longer and help/watch, feel free.

Again, any modern sporting rifle may shoot.  It's not only for Kalashnikovs.

There are two spots left in the 1130 time slot.

The other times, 0900 and 1330 have room.

This is one of the most popular CoF's we've run.  Come on out and give it a try.

Will you qualify?

Having trained multiple times with Black Hat Training Corps, and bringing home the final "best of the event" time & accuracy record on the ZQ-Course, I think you will kinda be okay.

The ZQ-Course was a qualification course shot in Contagion 2010.  It worked like this:    1 steel target was at 100Y.   Shooters had to hit it from 10 different positions including standing, kneeling, a series of uncomfortable positions, and  a sideways (urban/sbu prone) shot.  All in under 1:30.   I don't remember Rob's winning time, but I believe it was near or under 25 seconds.   There were three or four other shooters who also had really kickass times.   I imagined that stage was going to be one of the less popular ones of the zombie shoot, but I was totally wrong.   Some people came back and shot it more than TEN TIMES!

If you guys want another crack at that, let me know and I will build it into a match up at NHRPC.

I think I may need to buy an AK just for this

You should totally build that 10 position ZQ course into a future CoF. It forces you to shoot from less than optimal positions, which I like.

Hi,

The round count and mag loadouts are all on the match information page on the club website:

http://nhrpc.org/index.php/groups/42-practical-a-precision-rifle/86-december-12-practical-rifle-njsp-q-course-kalashnikov-match

Basically 65 rounds per run.   Some registered a couple times to try it with different guns.

There are only a couple spots left in the 1300 time slot.  Match registration will be closing tonight because we are very close to capacity so get on board now.

If you have never shot the NJSP CoF you will love it.
