On Saturday, October 18th, 9:00am, I will be conducting the Nebraska CCW class in rural Norfolk (actually, rural Meadow Grove!) Nebraska.  The class meets all requirements for the permit from the States of Nebraska, Utah and Florida.

Space is very limited as the class is nearly full.  Contact me if interested in more information or to register:  paul (at) shootingsafely.com

South Dakota will  honor any State Permit, so if you secure the NE permit you are all set.

Currrently, short of moving to Colorado, there is no legal way for a  NE resident to carry a concealed weapon in Colorado as Colorado does not honor the NE Permit and CO does not issue a non-resident permit.

I have a Utah CC permit. I was told by a trooper that NE did not honor it. Is that true, if so why not.
Thanks

Yes, that it is true.

It is because legislators feel you are a menace if you carry a concealed handgun in Nebraska if you are not a Nebraska resident.

Yes....the Nebraska CCW law states that Nebraska will NOT honor any Permit issued by any other State.  Further, they issue no non-resident permits.

So, unless you live in Nebraska, (or can carry under some other provision...perhaps HR 218), there is no legal basis for a non-resident to carry a concealed weapon in Nebraska.

As implied in the previous post, the Nebraska legislature is attempting to fix a problem that does not exist.  But, I am sure it "feels good".
