In a nut shell, you have to have proof of firearms training. It can be an NRA course, or a course taught by a NRA instructor. A DD-214 also applies or you can take the free Florida Hunter Education class. Make a copy of your proof of training, fill out the application package, include fingerprint card and photograph. Mail it in with a M/O for $158 IIRC. and wait about 45 days. You'll get a CWP with your pic, looks alot like a DL and you are good for 5 years. You can order the free aplication packet on line. Check the thread on this forum more more detailed instructions. I think you have to be a resident for a certain number of days.
As for the NFA stuff, best thing to do is form a revocable living trust. This will negate the need for a CLEO signature, photos & prints. You can buy all the NFA you can afford. Very few folks use dedicated wet cans. You can take almost any dry can & use it wet, not recommended on aluminum cans though.
There is a big MG shoot 3 times a year at the Hernando Sprotsmans Club on US 19 just north of Hudson, FL which is just a little north of Tampa.
While your at it, pick up a switchbalde as well. Might as well feel the freedom of being unshackeled.
