Sen. Dewine has a new website. www.mikedewine.com/

In it is a "Contact Us" section. Of course, he doesn't want to hear from out-of-staters so I want to ask y'all guys if you could go there and leave a message in opposition of amnesty for Illegal Aliens.
If you could write him something like "It's time to make being an illegal alien more hassle than it's worth" I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

I think this RINO is on his way out.

I'm almost at the point I'd rather have a flaming, tree hugging, granola eating, peacnic, yellow belled, Red comi, kombia singing liberal than any of the RINOs we have now, at least we'd know were they stand. But atleast they still have an R and havn't pulled a jumpin Jim Jefferds

I had the pleasure of calling DeWine a weasel to his face, at a Republican Party function back when he was first running for the Senate. That was probably our most productive exchange...

The ONLY reason to hold you nose and vote for someone you deem morally repugnant, is if he tows (toes?) the party line and supports the general issues you do.

At worst, he would be a "place-holder" that keeps a liberal socialist from occupying that senate seat.

Dewine FAILS these criteria. He will not stick with the party on critical issues, issues that define the Republican/Democrat political world (or Conservative/Liberal, nearly but not exactly the same thing).

You might as well vote for the Democrat. Its hard to imagine anybody in Ohio on the Democratic side who would be WORSE than Dewine.

If you want to contact Dewine to express your opinions and concerns, you'd do better to use the webform linked to this site: dewine.senate.gov/

That correspondence goes to him, as the senator. The link in the first post goes to his campaign office.

for chrissake, why would any of us want to contact Dewine? What makes you think he would give us the time of day (unless there was a photo-op at a defense plant)? How many of us do you know walk around with $10,000 cash in one hand and a case of whiskey in the other, cause thats what it's going to take to get his attention.

I recently wrote him a letter, and he wrote me a letter back. I don't believe in bribing a senator, so I think I'll keep the $10,000 and case of whiskey for myself. Since you seem to have given up on the political process, what alternatives do you have to offer us that will be more effective than writing or calling your Senator?

I never said I had given up on the political process. I practice the political process every chance I get, every election opportunity, by VOTING.

But I think I have established beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am not going to vote for Dewine.

BTW, my wife and kids volunteered to help with Bush's 04 campaign here in Cincy and got to meet and shake his hand. But none of them were deluded into thinking that they actually talked with Bush, or that he would remember them the next day.

In a political system with millions of opinions from potential voters, if you want the attention of the elected class, you better be talking about serious cash contributions, or serious (ie, big money) projects that will make the annointed ones look good. For the rest of us, our vote is our little piss in the ocean; it takes a lot of us together to change the temperature. Since Dewine has behaved like a liberal Democrat for much of his last term, he clearly is not getting any feedback from large numbers of his constituents that affects his thinking. Maybe most of his constituents are happy with his performance? I guess we will find out at election time. More likely, little Mikey is prepping for a presidential run in '12, and establishing his cred with the liberal side of the chamber. Good luck with that, little Mikey, hope your plan takes into account the fact that lots of Ohio republicans will just skip over that portion of the ballot, if they don't outright vote for your opponent.

An ice cube has a better chance of making it through hell in the solid state than Mike DeWine has of getting the Republican presidential nomination.

He's got the party and so much money behind him that no republican has a snow balls chance in hell to unseat him. If we had a concerted effort just maybe it could happen but most people don't even vote let alone take action/volunteer.
