Well, I'm about done with them.  I have had 500 rnds of brown bear 223 on backorder since 12/22/12 and they canceled it today.  I figured they would, but it would be nice to be given a reason more than "reason for cancel:  canceled by midway."

Should I call and complain?  Their customer service kinda blows imo.

I would call, though I doubt it will change anything.

Go to your , My account - current backorders.

you will see this posted.

ATTENTION.
Please ensure a valid credit card (non-expired, sufficient funds, etc.) is associated with your backorder at all times.

If the card on file is declined when your products are ready to ship from MidwayUSA, your backorder will be automatically cancelled.

Backorders are automatically cancelled once the card on file has expired.

Maybe this is what happened to your order.

no I made sure that the card was valid. the product is listed as discontinued now.

I figured they would cancel the order bc it was pre crazyness/panic prices.  But really?  Really?

I placed an order with Brownells January 5th....about 3 weeks ago I got an email saying that my card number I had used was expired and if I still wanted the item to call and give them a new card or in 7 days they would cancel the order. I haven't had any bad luck from Midway but it's also been a year or better since I ordered anything from them. From the stories like yours I hear I doubt they would have let me update the card info and keep the order.....

I'm glad my new gig is across town from Graf's Reloading in St Charles.  They have been fully restocked on primers and AFAIK are not limiting purchasing on many of them now.

Just need to get more rifle powder (4064, Varget, TAC, etc) and I'll be GTG for a bit.

Yeah, that is a good shop.  Initially I was pissed when I got limited on primers, but in hindsight, they did get me thru the crisis, hehe.  Last time I was in there, they were limiting large pistol to 200 still, but that was a week or two ago.

What were you paying pre-panic on small pistol primers? Powder Valley is showing Tula small pistol primers in stock at $23.50 per 1k no limit. Is that a good price?

They made a post about it in GD waaaaaay back when they started cancelling backorders. Long story short, it's for your own protection, and prices have come down since then anyway. Too many people were surprised about a forgotten backorder, and overdrafted for overpriced ammo.

I had an order recently canceled by them too.  I had some Hornady 7.62x39 zombie rounds back ordered.

The cancellation didn't say why.   I emailed them and they said that Hornady was no longer producing them.

A lot of the bullet manufacturers have consolidated their bullet selection down to a smaller number of options in the interest of pumping out more of the best sellers, which as they say, shall also pass.

Cabelas canceled my bulk 22LR, they claimed their order was canceled in their voicemail, but I didn't call back. If their order was really canceled, I can see canceling customer orders BUT, I need to print the exact type and price, my guess I'll see it for sale down the road at a higher price.
My brother got a couple emails and a phone call telling him is order is still on BO and asking him if he wanted to cancel, he said "no" and a few days later the store called when his 1000 rounds of prepanic priced 556 was ready for pick up.

That is $1 more than I paid last July.
