Saturday's offering was about two hundred Winchester 100-rd value packs (115gr FMJ) priced at $32 + tax limit one per customer.
I was in there shortly after 8am and I can reasonably assure you that given the speed in which they were being grabbed the entire lot was probably sold out by 10am. |

Sportsmans had a little bit of Varget this morning. A guy got the last (or only) pound of it like 20 paces ahead of me. I got to see him walk off and the price sticker on the shelf staring back at me. Dang it

I just loaded up some .40 this past week with some bullets and powder I found at cabela's. did the math afterward.....$8.71 for a box of 50, even at today's prices for bullets and powder.

I purchased nothing from PSA or Shooter's Choice. Sportsmans Whorehouse furnished a single Hornady die lock ring for $5 (the last one) and a Breakthrough Clean Industries "Battle Rope" (bore snake) which are marked down to $5.97 they got a ton of them.
With the exception of targets, hearing protection, Pmags, and cleaning supplies the shelves at SW were pretty much empty including the Hornady, Lee, and RCBS small parts. Didn't notice the selection of reloading books which would have been a worthwhile purchase. |

Simpsons has not had any ammo shipments that I know of in over a week.
They have now posted signs at every register that ammo sales are now limited to a total of 1 box per person per day vs. one box of each type available per person per day. Of course they don't have any right now so.... ![]() ![]() |

Amazingly enough there was still some ammo for sale at 7am this morning. Dislike the purchase limit but I'll buy a box of Tulammo 223 just for blasting esp. when the price is $6.99/box.

Shooters Choice in West Columbia got their ammo shipment in today. The whole front corner was full. There was a line to get in at 10 AM. I went into the back to fill out a 4473 for an item that subsequently flew off of my car and into the deep water at the Lake Murray dam. When I finished the 4473, the ammo was gone. All gone. Just like the Bumpuses dogs on turkey.

Today's adventure started with Simpsons Hardware:
They got in some assorted cases of Hornady SD ammo. Thanks to social media there was a line inside the store even before they cracked anything open. Limit 1 box. PSA Fernandina: Damn near nothing. TulAmmo 223 $15/20rounds and they had some "value packs" of 10mm FMJ for $200+ Ammo shelf aisle was almost completely empty save a few small boxes of Aguila .22lr for $13/50 rounds. Sportsmans Whorehouse: No ammo. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Nyet. They did have 1K-count boxes of 9mm 124gr RN FMJ for reloading but the price was $200.00 + tax. ![]() Reloading gear aisles are just about picked clean. Not even any reloading books. ![]() |

I stop by Simpson in Sumter pick up last box of PCM 9mm and PCM 45 at 12.10 pm. They have some PCM 223 or 5.56 when I left

Simpson's Gun Dept. Mgr. says they expect no more new ammo shipments for the foreseeable future...that at the present time their ammo distributors have not allocated Simpsons any product.
S&W Shield Plus: they are on order and expected to be priced at $580 + tax = $626.40 (base model with thumb safety). I'll stick with my Gen 1 that cost me a whopping $209 after rebate/free shipping/no tax/CAE Transfers fee. |

Simpson Hardware's main store (Wesmark Blvd.) has announced that while they will still maintain their text notifications for guns and ammunition that text notifications for ammo will be limited to large shipments only. They have experienced "issues" when hundreds or possibly several thousand people descend on the store in the course of a day for an ammo shipment consisting of a few cases sold by the box (1 per customer).

Yesterday BubbaShootz and I did a tour of Columbia gun stores and here is what we found...and didn't find:
PSA Ammo aisle almost completely empty save for a box of 10mm and a few boxes of 30 Luger. There were some pallets out front one had all steel case TulAmmo for AK's price for 40 rounds was $19.99. Other pallet had some Eastern European 9mm 115gr FMJ for $40 a box. Sportsmans Warehouse Other than oddball rifle calibers no ammo. 2 lbs. of powder: a can of WST and a can of H4995. Academy Sports (North location): A smatterng of ammo 17HMR, a few boxes of AK ammo, some Fed. American Eagle 223 ($12/20), about a dozen boxes of Winchester 12 GA 00 buck, and maybe 10 boxes of 45ACP FMJ for $37 each. Shooter's Choice: Just got in a big ammo shipment of all kinds with even bigger prices to go along with it. 9mm and .380 were around $35 a box. We purchased no ammo from any of these stores. We did get lunch at Tacos Nayarit on Percival Road. Very good. Recommended. |

Simpson Hardware's gun counter asst. mgr said FB ads for same .380 ammo that sold out Saturday started appearing online in a matter of hours. Typical asking price was $200 and up.
This is why you should sell at current market value if the buyer is someone you don't know. Every goober and his brother are out there flipping the stuff. |

Whats aggravating...people buying everything up just to flip....not giving a damn about the sport or culture
