I'll be going Saturday morning...anyone else?
I'm waiting for Valley Forge in March. I find the NY shows downright depressing.
Phil, whats the date on VF? I've always wanted to check one of those out!
I go to Middletown just to get ammo even though I should just take the drive down to United Cartridge in Congers. I would love to go to Valley Forge but my current medical problems preclude me from handling a six hour round trip and a show by myself. |
If you live in Rochester, Wayne county area you just have to drive to my place and keep me company, I will give ya a lift. You buy the coffee for the way down. |
Sounds like VF would be an overnight trip if there is that much driving.
Ahhh. Valley Forge, brings back memories of the old days. Definitely way better than anything around here.
Unfortunately, I live in Orange County. Thanks for the offer though. |

Never been there. How's the availability of preban mags there? Been looking to get some on-line but I may hold off until I check out the show.
BTW here is a link to OC shooter website and a $1 off coupon. Not much but a buck is a buck! Coupon Thx. Whisky19 |
Vic if I head down to the show you can ride down with me. Mapquest looks like I'd be shooting down your way anyhow.
If you are talking about the Middletown Show forget about getting decent USGI preban mags at a good price. You may find new British steel SA80/M16 mags for $20 a piece. |
Thanks! |
So will the Middletown show be any better than the Albany show or the other shows that are in the Albany area. The last Big Al's show at the Friar Tuck Inn was terrible
That about sums it up with one exception, the Syracuse Show. That is the show to go to in NYS. |
NY Gun show= Junk Show. $350 rusty Enfields! OOhhh... I'll take half a dozen!
I was afraid of that. I think I'll just order on-line. Lotsa vendors out there! Thanks. Whisky19 |
When is the 'Cuse show? April? It's sad really, but I live 5 mins from the Fairgrounds, was born and raised in Syracuse, and I don't know when the show is. Is it true that there are judges and/or clerks at the show to amend pistol permits with new purchases? |
Wow, that's cool!!! |
United Cartridge in Pomona, they sell to the public? I live near Pomona. |
Do they??? Do they!?!?! Raptor, how're the prices on ammo these days?? It's time to start stocking up for Bulletfest....I need 5.56, .45 and at least 2k rounds of .308.....know anybody with good prices on Wolf? |

Call Steve and ask him. You get a better deal picking up than at the Middletown Show. You can pick up some for me and deliver on your way to PA and save me the trip. |

Can you IM me his number? I don't know what I did with his card. I want some XM193, not PD and I want to know if he will have some at the show. What time does the show open in the morning? |
I will be at the show one of the days (probably Saturday) - my gunclub (Walden Sportsmans Club) will be sharing a table with the guys from SCOPE. Stop by and say hi, pick up an application for a good gun club and join SCOPE while you are at it. I hope to meet a bunch of you.
I think I'll be there Sat morning probably at opening time. My son & one of his buddies may go also. Hope to find some ammo at a decent price

Update - I will be at the show on Saturday morning. The Walden Sportsmans Club will be sharing a table with the good folks from SCOPE. Stop by and say hi.
Okay, it's official, I'll be there around opening time on SATURDAY. ANybody who wants to meet up (maybe coffee or an early lunch a few hours later?) IM me your cell phone number.
Anyone on Long Island have any car space? I'd like to go but my car is messed up. Will chip in for gas. LMK, thanks.
Well, I'm getting in the truck in a few minutes...anybody going feel free to call my cell (deleted).
Raptor...see you in 90 minutes... |
Sorry I missed ya Chrome. I left around 11:30 as I had to get on the road to Pa. Had a good time visiting with Raptor and meeting Bushman and the guys manning his club's/SCOPE's table. Not much to see IMHO, though I did get a thousand rounds of Paki .308 for $165 and 1K of South African battle packs for $225. Funny, Ralph "The Rifle Guy" Flint was there but only selling uppers and parts since he got hauled away in cuffs form the last show for selling LEOnly magazines... Now, howzabout a NY/NJ HTF Roadtrip to the next Valley Forge show? I hear Phil-a-steen knows where all the |

you overpaid on both the SA and paki ammo, could of gotten it cheaper shipped from online.. |
Not everybody wants to order on-line, some people prefer cash and carry.
It was great meeting you Helldog and Raptor! The table seemed to be getting pretty good results in new members for the Club and SCOPE. It seemed like overpriced ammo cans were the best seller. I think this was the first time I ever walked out of the show empty handed
fixed it for 'ya. I couldn't make it this weekend, damn. |
Gee, thanks for the helpful advice. I'll make sure and come to you to research my future purchases. |
You upset Helldoggy enough that he had to say it TWICE! I think we need to send Dieter and Helldoggy... TO THE PIT!
I've got a troublesome driver with my touchpad...dammit. And YOU, nummynuts, don't stir the pot. My offer to make you an AK Mod is still under consideration by Management. |
I actually do know of a nice strip bar in Harrisburg from when I used to go to that show
But Philly is my wife's hometown and she goes with me to that show so I can't do any naughty fun things at Valley Forge. If anyone wants to set a meeting for the VF show, I'm in. |
Sounds more like a punishment to me. |
So, how was the show?
Was it worth a visit? I've given up on shows in NY unless they're very close by. |
Hey you sackless wonders!!! I was there, to my own surprise, opening Saturday freezing my stones off on the LEFT SLOWER line, with the PREETY FEMALE clerk. I was displaying my Ar15.com mock green turtle neck and NOT ONE of you stopped me and exchanged pleasantries.
Should I have gone to the microphone and announced "all Ar15.com members with sacks please meet at?" ... I did not know I was going till late Friday night and didn't have time to research this thread. I am done AND I am not responsible for the content of this thread, because I am old and cranky! Oh, and tired. |
Likewise, it was a pleasure meeting you and the guys from the club. I look foward to becoming a member. My wife and son will be very happy to be able to go shoot closer to home. |
Sorry about that. I got there at 8:55 and saw the long line on the right and this very short line on the left. I think that I did see you as I kept looking back for Helldog but did not recognize the Ar15.com mock green turtle neck. You are right though, she was slow! Helldog had called me to let me know he was enroute so I proceeded to do my ammo purchasing and walk the long two trips to my van before running into him later. |
Why??? Hiram is [cough]highly regarded[/cough] over at the AK side. |
It would have been cool though see you all - perhaps next time, right?
Ammo prices weren't that good. Bought some Wolf anyways, VA-Gunnut says, "it's good stuff". |
