Sorry, I wouldn't give it back. I'd say finders keepers, and send footage of it to all the media outlets. Let them sort it out.

In the mean time, I'd use it for target practice.

It happened on Tuesday.I checked the wildlife regs and see no thing that prevents shooting down Mexican Drones.

"We worked collaboratively with the GOM and other U.S. federal agencies to coordinate the return of the UAV to (Mexico)."

I'd have just thrown it back over the fence...........

They obviously can't fly a drone any better than they can drive a car.

Thats pretty sophisticated, expensive equipment for Mexico unless it belonged to one of the drug cartels.

You're probably on to something Catman2....  Seems more likely that the drug cartels would have the
money for that kind of surveillance.....

We've given them a bunch of UAVs to find cartel hideouts (at least according to the Coasties I talked to in Zapata a month or so ago).  They've probably purchased more. It's worked pretty well, they say.  Find them with UAVs, send in the helicopters, shoot the hell out of them, move to the next ones....

That sounds like a good request/game plan on the Mexican government's part. Now all they need is people on the ground who are aren't in the pockets of the drug cartels to tip them off.

Where do you think those stories of "16 cartel members found dead at Tamaulipas ranch house, Zero friendly casualties" that were in the news a couple months back came from?
