This coming weekend is the IBS Maryland State Championship. ARs will be a recognized class. Shoot at 100 yards on Saturday and at 200 yards on Sunday. You'll need 40 to 60 rounds for each day.

The match is at the Thurmont Sportsman Club, 11617 Hunt Club Road, Thurmont, MD 21788-2614 (301) 898-9093

Is there a class for .50 BMG rifles?

No there is not a class for 50 caliber. 40 caliber is the max for bolt action guns and 30 cal is the max for ARs.

I just received word there is only one AR signed up for the match. Come on guys, wouldn't you like to be a State Champion?

If I didn't have a date on Saturday (wife is out of town) I'd be there.
Is Friday the only sight in day? I could definitely make it Sunday, but can you shoot one without the other?

I'd really hate to cancel my date, but....worse things have happened to me...like the wife staying home for the weekend.
Oh, does it have to resemble an AR, or can it be an AR based platform? I've got a really nice shooting JP with a wood stock....would that suffice? Brake ok on the end? (guess an online rule book would be appropriate for us novices?)

Well, my AR-15 lower is in use on my .50 cal upper but its still an AR; could I shoot the match for no score? I'd like to see how it shoots against the high-dollar bench rest guns & the other ARs. I'll still pay the entry fees & help out. How about it?
