I have a FL non-resident permit.
All good gunowners should apply, whether you intend to carry or not. The price is a little painful but what are your rights worth? If you wait until you need it you will be SOL because it takes time. Even in communist states (like my own OH) where CCW is illegal, at least it shows your being trained and background checked with an intent to follow the law. What that means to a jury is only in the collective mind of that jury!
FL requires $$, fingerprints, picture, NRA training or acceptable substitue and that you fill out a form. 90 days later you get the card (an acceptable ID, too, as it is gov issued and carries a picture. So says my FFL compliance officer.)
