who here has MagPul mfg stocks on their ARs?

I think they look really sharp....

also are they NY compliant as is or do we have to modify them (with a screw, etc)?

post some pics, curious to see the configs

IMO -

93B: great idea, latch is too big, top-side sling wear is odd when you have to
close the stock, the sling catches on it.  Best cheekweld out there on a
collapser bar none.

CTR: there should be no other std M4 stock.  It is that good.  It should be
THE collapsing stock.  It  has the same cheekweld flaws (cheek half on half off,
beard issues) of any other tube-based stock, but no one seems to mind.
the locking mechanism not only locks the stock in place lengthwise, but
locks the stock PERIOD.  the thing deos not rotate, move, slide at all.
amazing.

PRS: makes rosie odonnel look light.  FAR too heavy for me.  no excuse
other than for benchrest precision rifles that you will never ever carry.
cheekrest is useless, you gotta crane your neck back.  not their fault,
more eugene stoner's fault.  my dream is a PRS with a full length cheekpiece
and a side charging upper.  until then, no thanks.  Having said that,
I'm sure all taht weight is due to some reinforcing materials and
hot damn the thing is solid.  THE most solid stock I've ever used.

UBR: on paper, it looks great.  Zak Smith said it s a bit heavy,
but for the feature set it presents on paper, it might be worth it.

Hare are the ones I've had.

chapperjoe thanks for the very informative post!  Much appreciated

Id like either the 93B or CTR

unfortunately it lists the 93B as discontinued and replaced by the UBR...which in my opinion, is FUGLY.

know of a source for 93Bs and approx retail cost?

I see the CTRs for about $100 which isnt bad.

snip.

I've had WAY too many guns.

I'm through with counselling so I can say it now:  I burned through over six figures in my first two years here.  When I say sx figures, I don't mean recycled, I mean I spent that much of my money.  E.g. there was a pile of cash that just got smaller and smaller.

I wanted to get my hands on as many platforms and as much gear as possible to see what I like, get a feel for my choices.

But even I recognize that I did this the dumb way.

I probably lost 30,000$ by not having a job and selling my guns when I needed cash.
Id' wait till the last second adn then bascailly give them away.

Lots of arfkommers did well buying from me.
And I thank them for it!  They saved my ass many times.

But WOW was that dumb.

C'est la vie... the disease continues.

Need USC/UMP info? I've had more than the fingers on my hand.
Opinon on Magpuls? I've had em all
Don't get me started on AKs.....

ETA: you won't regret a CTR.  I dont' ahve a preban upper anymore, but I'm thinking of one for my remington 870 tactical....
