Marion Road Gun Club in Macon will host a one-day Appleseed shoot  on 18 July 2015. The program teaches traditional rifle marksmanship and our heritage of liberty. You will learn how to hit a man-size target at 500 yards with notihng but a basic rifle and sling.

The program caters to the novice and seasoned shooter alike and is definitely a family event. .22 rifles are fine and just about any rifle will do.

I'd like to make one of these just for the hell of it.  I've been to Marion Road Gun Club before, but did not know they had a lane long enough to accommodate 500yd shots.  If I'm not working, I will try to attend.

Appleseed is done at 25 meters, with reduced targets.  Hence, .22 works.

Correct: we shoot 4 MOA targets at 25m, which is a 1" square.

Oh, I forgot to mention. Shooting the 25 m Appleseed qualifies you to shoot the full Known Distance (KD). That shoot is in Elberton, GA on 12-13 September. We'll go out to at least 400 yards on that shoot - and often 500 yards.
