Seen this over on the FAL Files.

HB349 (License to Carry) is still sitting on the Governor's desk and is currently undergoing a "review" by his office. They have set up an opinion line - (573) 751-3222 that is operational 8-5, M-F.

Keep the letters and faxes going too (always courteous, concise and respectful - of course)!

Keep the pressure on him to sign (or at least not veto) HB349. It ain't over yet!

I've emailed the Gov (as well as my reps), but will make sure to call him as well first thing monday.

It's amazing it is this close to finally becoming law. Let's get on it guys.

I'm on it first thing tomorrow.

I wonder why they would even set up an opinion line? Maybe ole' Bob is rethinking his hard-line anti-CCW stance.

I'll Call / Email tomorrow morning...

Thanks for the heads up cz75fan...

Missed you at the shoot yesterday...

Got to show off my CZ75 to some ladies looking for a nice handgun...

Dang it!!!! I hated to miss the shoot. My Son and I were planning on driving up Saturday, but we had too many "irons in the fire" around the house. I've seen some pics of the range, it looks extremely nice. What did the Ladies think of the CZ's?

Link Posted: 6/2/2003 8:52:42 AM EDT
I believe they liked the lower muzzle bore/to trigger that the CZ has over SIGs and such...
less "felt" recoil, so they actually enjoyed shooting the gun...

I have the Hogue rubber ergo grips on my CZ, so they also liked the way it felt in the hand (filled the hand)...

Done. I called "one term bob" office this morning and I will get my GF to call tonight when she gets home.
Has everyone else made their opinion known yet?

Just called too...

Sure haven't.
Hasn't stopped me from calling and writing though...

Well as I understand it, unless Bob has vetoed it and we just haven't heard about it, we have 24 more days until it COULD quietly pass into law.

Seems like Holden's best political move.

Let's hope that's the case.

IMO, no news is good news for now.

I've been reading the paper every day, waiting for that headline: HOLDEN VETOES CCW BILL: spokesman says he did it "for the children".

No wonder his wife was shaggin a State Trooper on the side...

Its been ten days since the last post on this thread. Holden and the republicans are going toe to toe over the budget. He's now vetoed their education budget TWICE.

Any news on this issue? Any guesses?

I think July 15th is the date. My guess is that he will let it become law without his signature. If he was going to veto what's the point in waiting? He's looking so bad over the budget this would be the kiss of death. Maybe just wishful thinking on my part.

posting so I can find this thread in the morning

According to the link on the front AR15 page the magic day is the 14th, here is the link in case you are a bit too lazy (like I am) to back click a few times.

BTW, informative reading, explains a bit of the quandry "One Term" is in.

Holden's cronies, the CCW opponents, are just to quiet. I think Holden will veto the last minute before the clock strikes 12 midnight.

Mecheng, I hope you are totally wrong, but yeah, I can't help but wonder if the St. Louis cabal wouldn't be screeching their heads off about it if they thought Holden wasn't going to veto.

Maybe they are too distracted by the budget crisis to make CCW a top priority? The dems seem to be keeping mum on gun control in general these days anyway? Wishful thinking?

Several Democraps and Repubs who were counted on to override the veto have announced they will not run for the next term. Why? They have been given lucrative government/private positons by Holden. The numbers of votes dwindles daily.

It may be quiet, but the Guv is working hard to kill it.
Link Posted: 6/21/2003 1:13:57 PM EDT
I doubt if Holden is around another term to pay off.
Link Posted: 6/22/2003 7:10:30 AM EDT
I tend to agree with Mecheng, I believe a quiet last second veto is in the works. I think he will do it this way so as to minimize the damage to himself. He is in enough hot water already, this gives him a few weeks less of having to deal with those of us jumping his butt for vetoing the bill.
