Apr 30, 2011 7:26pm by Lostnmissing Cynthia Caron
Police, friends and family are highly active in the search for a missing Page High School senior.
David Brooks Ferrell Jr. 18, left his parent's home in Greensboro around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and has not been seen since. Police said the teenager, who often goes by his middle name, has not made any contact with parents, friends or the school.
"He won't answer his cell phone, and we kept calling. Now it's either turned off or it's dead," said his dad, David Brooks Ferrell Sr.
Investigators are treating Brooks's disappearance as a missing person's case. Brooks's parents said he never goes anywhere without telling his family.
"He's never done this before. He obviously left mad and he left in a hurry without any plans," Ferrell Sr. said.
Brooks's parents said he had been acting strange after returning home from a senior trip to the beach.
"I know he was sleep deprived. He came back out of sorts, but then on Monday he called me from school upset, saying he couldn't focus," Ferrell Sr. said.
His parents said he took almost nothing with him.
"He didn't have a lot of gas in his car, and he didn't have a lot of cash, so he's got to be somewhere," Ferrell Sr. said.
Brooks's parents said he is a good kid who is involved in school. Classmates gathered after school to help distribute flyers about his disappearance across the city.
"It's really hard because he's one of the kids in the group that always makes us laugh, and he's somebody to joke around with. It's just hard to take in," said Morgan Albertson, senior.
Brooks may be driving a white Mitsubishi Lancer with N.C. license plate TTY-2856.
Anyone with information about Brooks's whereabouts is asked to call Greensboro Police at 373-2255 or Crime Stoppers at 373-1000.
If you've seen him... please call. Thanks!
I'll be praying for him and the family and on the look out.
The news on channel 10 said the car was found in the lake at Country Park. The body inside has not been identified.
Worst outcome possible...
Praying for the family.
