It depends on the moderator. Everyone knows that hindus and muslims don't eat pork, as it is against their religion since it looked upon as a vile animal. To each their own. I guess the moderator took it as a racial/religion based bash.
I don't think that comment warranted a ban, or even a warning for that matter. Nothing against non-extreme Muslims, but I don't want a mosque at ground zero either. Even though traditonal muslims would never partake in 9/11, it is still a slap in the face to Americans to want to place a mosque there. It would be like opening a Hitler museum in Isreal. I appreciate the moderators keeping the forum semi-civil, but to ban someone for that comment is a little too much in my opinion. I guess we will all get banned eventually. |

He gave away free stuff to any HTF person who joined GCO. He was generally helpful and willing to go out of his way for anyone who needed anything. I've always considered him a friend, and an interesting man.
He gave us half a fawn. Can can be banned, but never forgotten. |

I didnt know Stag personally. He seemed to be a pretty straight forward guy who called it like he saw it. The simple fact is you have a fundamental right to say what you want. However, there is no true freedom of speech. This is a commerical site, monitored by mods, and paid for by the advertising mostly. They can and do control what you post on "their" site. IF you want to say what you want to say do it where there are no rules or limitations regarding your speech/written word.

Your warning was from the site staff member who is in charge of all of the HTFs and it was about something that racists have been calling non-whites for decades. M4-Stag was banned after repeated warnings about doing the same thing, including one that plainly said that he'd be banned if he did it again. The rules of this site are mostly pretty simple to understand and follow. You don't have to agree with them, but you do have to follow them if you want to participate here. The people who own and run this site decided years ago that they wanted it to be a place for everyone, not just right-wing white Christians. |

While I think the half fawn stuff was some of the most juvenile garbage ever posted in the HTF, I rather enjoyed most of his postings and will miss seeing him around here. Sorry he couldn't abide by the rather simple site rules.

Right before I am eligible to get my Droid X, he gets banned? Jeez. I didn't even bookmark any of the "apps you need to get" or wallpaper threads. I was hoping to post and get advice when I finally got my phone. Crap.
ETA: Yeah, I know that's what I would do if I got banned - grow another head with a better (hopefully) screen name. With the way ISPs assign dynamic IP addresses, there's no way they'd know or be able to prove it was you, unless you used the same email address or let on that it was you somehow in your posts. I have like 8 email addresses and email aliases that dump mail into my main inboxes. I assume he does too. |
