Point - M16 is a USGI Infantry weapon.
Point - DIY in this forum can also be called WECSOG (Wiley E. Coyote School Of Gunsmithing) GI's that need to WECSOG a sling for their M16-series rifles have been known to use:

Okay, here's a basic DIY:
1 piece of 48" or so of 1" or 1 1/2" (nylon/cloth/canvas/whatever) webbing. 2 slide buckles for said webbing. Place one slide buckle on each end of the nylon webbing. Thread webbing through sling mounts on rifle. Feed end of webbing back thorugh slide buckle. Work complete. |

Is all you want a simple GI style one? I have the one that came with my Bushmaster, and I might have an extra isue one (thicker nylon) lying around somewhere if you want. Let me know and I'll dig them out. |
