It looks like the Lubbock downtown businesses want the taxpayers to fund their interests.

Now they are running a candidate who has the single interest of getting a 1 cent sales tax increase. I don't see this as a good thing for Lubbock, or the rest of the state.

If one gets it they all will want it. After all, it's only a cent.

Steve Massengale is also against letting teachers carry and seems pretty weak on gun rights in general.

Hopefully, when the voters find out his only purpose in running for office, is to take more money out of their pockets, he won't stand a chance.

I could see having some real fun with some spray paint and his political signs.

Change massingale to massingill and then douche under that.

The "Imagine Lubbock Together" campaign was not as popular as you might believe. It was the typical liberal arts people trying to push forward their agenda. This has happened in multiple communities across the nation. When it was presented to the people it was to be supposed to be paid for by contributions, no tax money. Those of us who vote, aka the older conservatives, knew better and knew they were just biding their time to try to get their hands on public money somewhere.

Very true, but he did loose Texas both times.

This. Then, some people would argue that we need a state income tax so the government will lower the sales tax, as if that would ever happen.

I hope this doesn't spread.
