Come on guys start calling State Senators and letting the Governor know where you stand. Louisiana could really use the calls and e-mails.

http://defendla.org/ This is the organization getting this stuff passed. Please donate if you can spare the extra money.

That's good news.  Does anyone have any idea on the liklihood of these passing the Senate?  I'm positive my Senator is voting against them. (And....my Rep was absent for the house vote when he should have been voting yes. )

Charles Boustany is mine and he is very strong on 2nd ammendment rights. I'm not worried about him.

ETA: I stand corrected. My State Senator is Page Cortez

Louisiana is setting the stage.   I think other pro gunners in the nation will eventually use it as a basis for their own states or move to a state like ours.   Thank God we have decent politicians down here that listen to the people...

It now appears that HB5 has stalled and will not be acted on during this session,in the Senate. ETA: Also HB 45

Two bills aimed at blocking federal gun control laws have stalled in the Louisiana Legislature, lawmakers confirmed Wednesday. With two days left before the 2013 session closes, legislators carrying the bills said they didn't have to votes to ensure final passage.

ETA: Added new link. Old one was dead. Link
