He spammed GD with a bunch of threads that said FUCK YOU ARFCOM RoP Lovers.
It was like 10 or 12 threads.
I am sure he will be banned

Passwords for websites can be pretty easy things to crack.  Especially if someone has logged in from a public terminal.

I'm not sure, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think arfcom locks accounts after a certain number of invalid passwords.  If that's the case, it's nothing to write a script to keep trying passwords until a match is found.

If that's what happened, I imagine whoever did it is probably also going after other mod/site staff accounts as well.  iNuh's just happened to be the weakest.

Think about it it happened during the super bowl, with adult beverages.  Probably had some friends over, which his shooting buddies that also surf this site.  Besides, how many of you log off when you are at home?

Here is some info strait from Inuh himself. He contacted me and asked to pass along the following...

First, I would like to clarify the fact that I did *NOT* post the 10
or so vulgar threads in the General Discussion forum!

It is pretty likely that someone acquired my login and password and
used the opportunity to trash the General Discussion board.  According
to Staff members who are further looking into this issue, it is rather
clear that I did not do this...  At the time of the incident, I was
with my brother, returning from a Super Bowl party.  Needless to say I
was surprised when I had recieved phone calls from several AR15.com
members asking me (some in a rather interesting manner) what was up...

I must surely extend my greatest thanks to:
VA-Gunnut, Aimless, any/all other Moderators (who had to put up with
locking all those threads), and Staff and SR Staff members who swiftly
locked my account and are busy searching the server logs, tracing IP &
server log data, and determining the source of these malicious
postings.
I would also like to thank SULLY at Defensive Edge and DPMMN for their
swift aid in resolving this issue with Site Staff in a timely and
professional manner.
I would also like to thank all those local members who have met me,
and did not believe I could have posted the malicious messages.  Their
support is greatly appreciated!

I would never post such things as I find that AR15.com is not only a
fantastic informational resource, but it is also like a home to me,
and the many local members are like my extended family!  I've attended
graduation parties, and frequent home-visits to several members'
families and such friends are welcome with me as well.

Just last week I finally got a high-speed wireless network connection
for my Home PC (which is not very secure), but I have disconnected
that for now, opting for 56k dial-up again.  However, there is
evidence that this was not the source of the leak.

YES, indeed I had a weak password (from waaaaaaay back in the 'old
days' of the "Green Gun Board" that once was the ancient AR15.com;
back when I was just a lurker on the old board).  Clearly that weak
password was the main reason someone so easily gained access to my
moderator account.  For having kept that weak password over time, and
inadvertantly putting the GD Mods and Staff (as well as the members)
through all this trouble, I'm most sincerely sorry as I did *NOT*
think such a thing would ever happen.  It is certainly a bit of a
wake-up call.

I hope to see this issue resolved shortly, and have the perpetrator
discovered.  As previously mentioned, there are some suspicions and
only time can tell where the data leads.  In the meantime, I will wait
patiently for more information from the great Staff members that have
worked so hard to resolve this issue in a timely and professional
manner.

The great deal of effort and time I've seen put in by the Staff of
this site is a testament to their integrity, their committment to the
members , and is a clear sign as to why AR15.com is rated the #1 GUN
BOARD IN THE WORLD.

For the help of everyone and their trusted support, Thank you!

Sincerely Sorry,

Mat / iNuhBaDNayburhood

I have no problem posting this for him as I have known Mat for several years now and am quite sure he would not post things of that nature. Hopefully this gets figured out quickly.
