Opps. he went out in a blaze of Glory. |

+1. Very daring but very stupid at the same time. |
+2 iNuhBaDNayburhood, if you can read this, you're the man. Today, we're ALL Minnesotans! |

This is being looked into by Staff. I highly doubt that he would do something like this. I'm willing to bet that someone got access to one of his computers, or snatched his login info somehow.
We're looking into this - things may not be what they appear, here.
I hope so he is a Decent guy from the little I know of him. |
Thats messed up, anyway I just talked to Mat, and he is giving VA-gunut a call right now
Great I hope it was not him. |

Passwords for websites can be pretty easy things to crack. Especially if someone has logged in from a public terminal.
I'm not sure, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think arfcom locks accounts after a certain number of invalid passwords. If that's the case, it's nothing to write a script to keep trying passwords until a match is found. If that's what happened, I imagine whoever did it is probably also going after other mod/site staff accounts as well. iNuh's just happened to be the weakest. |
Whoever it was they're a regular here. No one but arfcommers uses the term "arfcom."
I know that this is not my HF, but I have to hand it to you guys for looking into this! Shows you are concerned about the members! |
I dont know about regular, but at least someone that has lurked at least a little bit |
Actually, most other gun boards I visit always refer to this site as arfcom. Its pretty common now a days. |
Think about it it happened during the super bowl, with adult beverages. Probably had some friends over, which his shooting buddies that also surf this site. Besides, how many of you log off when you are at home? |
You can log off from this site? *boggle* |
BWAHAHAHAHA, Matt finally snapped. Now he finally finds out what too many graves dug, too little range time can do to a guy.
Sounds like the poor guy got mugged (again), but for his password this time, and forgot his mace
I'm actually pretty paranoid about making sure I log off after I am done. |
EDITED because my guess is purely speculation...
But I could be right. |
Yeah, I guess you are right. We all know VA-gunnut is mean, but not that mean |
it was the one armed man...on a grassy knoll.
If he is banned- can i have his remaining membership!!!! |
Hey! I have an image to uphold. |

Here is some info strait from Inuh himself. He contacted me and asked to pass along the following...
I have no problem posting this for him as I have known Mat for several years now and am quite sure he would not post things of that nature. Hopefully this gets figured out quickly. |

Folks, that right there is a good reason to make sure that your password is nice and strong. There are programs out there that can run "dictionary attacks" - that is, the programs have an enormous list of words to try, including most anything in a dictionary as well as many other common passwords (123456, password, etc.).
The best way to strengthen your password is to use a combination of various factors: - Mixed upper and lower case - Unusual characters, such as !@#$%^&*() - Numbers - Or any combination of the above which would not be in daily use. You can substitute numbers for letters in your passwords. If you're using "ilikepie", change it to "1l1k3p13", for example. There are nefarious sorts all over the place who will take advantage of your weak password merely because they can (and they have nothing better or more productive to do with their lives). |
This will be resolved tonight, and your fearless Mod should be back then.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on how you see things, his user ID will need to be different. He will now be known as: InAnUpAndCoMingArEa.
(note to self: change password) |
He didn't post it? Aww, man! I hereby rescind my self-proclaimed honorary Minnesotan status and return to the Missouri forums.
I'm just glad this got straightened out before I ate that ludefisk. |
And to make sure you use a different password for each website! |
Damn! It was so much more dramatic when it looked like Inuh had a meltdown.
Oh, well. Welcome back, Inuh! |
No mod! Sounds like a party/wager to me! |
That is Ethnic profiling if I have ever heard it!!! IBTL. |
Great news!!!! |
Good to hear. So now who's house are we going to have to storm? |
Duly noted MrsGloftoe, thanks for the heads up-I HAVE taken your suggestion and changed my password.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's JOHNNY!
Guess who's back!?!? Your HTF Moderator... (Hummin' to the tune of Margaritaville) Wastin' away again in Moderatorville. Searchin' for my "Lock Thread" button now. Some people claim that there's a mod-er-ator to blame... . . But I know... It's my own d/\mn fault. That'll learn me to have a simple password! I'm back, and I've got a few things to take care of before I can get back into the swing effectively moderating... Seems somebody took my account for a spin and didn't even give me the common courtesy of a reach-around. -iNuhBaDNayburhoodAndGladToBeBackOnArfcom! |
