I'm in Winchester VA (norther tip of VA), I was just wondering if there was anyone within 3 hours or sp whom owns one of the under 3000$ .50's (serbu, ar-50, cobb etc) who would be willing to let me meet them and fire off a couple rounds. I'd be willing to pay for ammo etc.

The reason being I'd really like to buy a .50 but I've never shot one, and only handled an AR-50. I'd like to at least try it once before I commit 2100or more to one.

Any responses would be much appreciated!

I know someone in Stafford who has one of the Steyr .50's, and he'd probably let you shoot it....

yeah I have the Steyr 50HS that HRT4me is speaking about. I would be willing as well let you squeze off a couple of rounds.

GOTm4,
were do you guys shoot at? maybe we can set something up so he can try both of these at the same time.

Several of us are shooting 50s at Quantico on 20AUG, and IIRC, the FCSA has a BMG shoot there on the 21st.

I have an older, el cheapo Watson's Weapons AR-15 upper that I'll be shooting on the 20th that you could try a couple through. Slow & clunky, but, it IS a .50. If you think you're interested, send an e-mail so we know to look out for you.

So far only at Hite Hollow. I'm a member of Quantico Shooting Club but haven't made it over there to use Range 4 yet. Everytime it's open we already have something else planned. Aug 20-21st I'll be shooting a GSSF match in PA so that bites. I wish the club would just request the range at pre-determined times which I know is hard to do being a military base but knowing 1 week ahead of time is hard to schedule around.

You should go by Stonewall Arms in Whinchester and talk to Bill about this. He might know someone around your area that might let you shoot their 50 BMG.

Good luck

I'm in Stonewall like 3 times a week lol. I just never thought to ask

Hell thats who I'd be buying it from anyway =P

Yeah I have spent my time and money in there. They are all good guys and Bill will fix up with that 50 BMG he has on his wall real quick.

We hit BWW's after every tirp to Stonewall Arms for some good food and a cold one, that is the only way to finsh off a good day of gun talk

Ha we go to BWW the same way, then either head back to my house to shoot or drive up to sleepy creek if we feel like a change of pace.

I was in there yesterday finally buying my .357 snubbie I've been wanting. He's got a Steyr up on the wall now instead of his M82

Congrats on the snubbie, is that going to be your CCW? I got a Glock 33 in 357 Sig for my CCW that I bought from them.

I'm going to be out there tomorrow to see what I need now We will be at BWW in the afternoon so come on by. I will be the guy wearing a Larue Tactical hat playing Golden Tee.

Might have to head in there!

Its more of a pocket gun for when I can't conceal my normal one, which is one of the Para PXT 1911's

Well it looks like we will be there Saturday afternoon now not tomorrow.
