Hi guys,

I'm looking for a good rifle/pistol range within an hour or so of Milwaukee that is open to the public and open on Mondays.  Some work buddies and myself were going to have a range day next Monday but McMiller only has hours posted for Thursday through Sunday and unfortunately we're stumped on where else we could go.

Thanks

That's a nice range, but it looks like the ranges aren't open on Mondays, just Friday through Sunday.

Spend the money and join a club. You will be happier in the long run (unless you are looking to do" ammo dumps")

Deerfield Rod & Gun club. $45/year, also has a clubhouse with a bar, and trap/skeet shooting. In fact the pistol/rifle range doesn't even get used that much. Open year round (as long as you don't mind tromping in snow...)

The gayest part about Bristol:
Centerfire rifles – Single Load Only.
If you wish to check for proper magazine function, ask a range officer for assistance

No thanks

I'm not really looking for a club as I have family up in Merrill with plenty of land to shoot on, I'm just trying to find a place where a couple of us guys from work can shoot on our Monday off that isn't too far from Milwaukee/Waukesha area.

There are plenty of ranges close, but our main problem is the only days that we all have off together are Mondays and most ranges seem to be closed.

I wouldn't go there if they paid me.

Now if they were giving some food, a gift card and bus ride to the polling place... well, maybe.

Sounds like similar organizations run both.

Bristol seems like a nice club, trying to root out the unsafe idiots but;
unfortunately, what has turned me away from this club, that is relatively close to me, is just those rules.
If they don't want rapid fire, just say so, and let people know up front, that it won't be allowed, or tolerated.

It says five shots for handguns too.
That's not realistic with a six shot revolver, or a "high capacity" .22lr revolver.

I understand that they don't want to have anyone there without range supervision, but you would think that they could have members prove they are responsible, and then be able to shoot on their own, at their own risk, on days other than the very busy Friday through Sunday period.   A lot of shooters want that peace and quiet, on a range that isn't crowded, so they can concentrate on sighting in, or serious target shooting without distraction.

Uh..........pretty much.  Not trying to generalize so lets say they have Fud rules.

Maybe an hour 15 minutes if you drive slow?

Lol.  They are only open 2-3 Mondays a year... in the beginning of November until deer gun season.  He wants to go on a Monday.

Yeah, McMiller's was our first choice until we saw that they weren't open Mondays.

so for revolvers they have to add one round to the chamber, fire it, then add another one?
i dont think i would shoot much if i was forced to do that....
