Went camping out near Rachel again, here are some pics...don't blame me for the size, it wasn't my camera.
The Upper Pahranagat Lake, only 80 miles North of Las Vegas but a world away...       Rush (my Akita)and I  Rush and my friend Bernie, that dog has a huge head, no?   Horney's rest stop on Hwy 375  Old truck across the highway from Rachel    Rush wants to drive it  Ore crusher across from Rachel  A real house and yard in Rachel!!  Recovered saucer in Rachel  Rush and I in front of the Little A 'Le Inn  Looking over the valley  The lakebed at the top is Sand Springs, where we drove and set up our campspot  Something caught Rush's attention  That's my truck down there  Another shot over the valley  See the T.V. repeaters for the Rachel folks? It just helps puill in channel 8 a little better  Set up camp on Sand Springs Dry Lake  Explaining to Rush the rules of camping  He said he was sorry he broke the rules  I didn't give a shit, rules can't be broken  I bought hot dogs in Rachel, I didn't see the "buy before" date was 4/04  Doesn't my face just say they were "tasty".   Alright, I didn't kill the dog  Rush on the Badlands  Rush wanted to see through the bino's...he's pretty tactical  Sunset   Flat tire in the morning

Great Pics. Great license plate. I don't have large enough balls yet to get a license plate with gun stuff on it (afraid someone will break into my truck to look for my toys). Any fish in that lake? If so, what kind of fish are in there?

There were quite a few people fishing but I don't know for what. It is a pretty small lake so no motor powered boats, canoes and kayaks are ok. Jesus, I got a headache from the size of those pics....BERNIE RESIZE YOUR FUCKING CAMERA. Jackass.

Is upper Pahranagat still a shallow dead lake (no fish)?
It used to have some BIG catfish along time ago....... I heard since the last drought 2 years ago, it lost it's wildlife fish. V OUT |

Great pics and beautiful dog. I use to stud my Akita several years ago.At one time, almost every dog in Vegas had a piece of him in em. If you have a pedigree, look for a name "Scurvy" . That would be him. He's long since gone. Your dog blowing coat or gat a case of the mange?
People use to fish that lake for bass. Not sure whats left in there now. |

Neither, he had a torn ACL ligament last December so they had to take it out, break his leg and then put 2 plates on each side of the bone to reattach it.....he is back to normal and runs like hell, just needs his coat to come in 100% but it is coming along. |

Damn Bob, glad that dog didnt jump out the back of your truck when we met.......LOL...Ive got a rednose pitbull that kept 4 cops away from ny truck one afternoon. Dog scared the shit out of them so bad I coulda had a couple of bodies in the back but they were to damned afraid to get to close LOL. I had a .45 in shoulder holster on and big ass navy seals switchblade on my side...the damn knife would get me in real trouble...I have a ccw. Cop asked me what was in the case at my side(the knife) and I said to hell with that man I got a gun on...he forgot about the knife real quick. It was all I could do keep from laughing at these guys LOL
