anybody who has ever had a bulged case get stuck in the chamber, and heard a click instead of a bang, needs to know about the bulge buster kit. Some pistols, especially 40 SW semis, have loose chambers. When a round is fired, the base of the case can bulge outward. Normal resizing dies, even "full length" dies, will not reform the base just above the extractor groove. The result is a round  that will almost, but not quite, fully seat in the chamber...and gets stuck in that position.

Get a Lee taper crimp die and remove the top and the taper crimp sleeve, install it in your press, and push the bulged rounds all the way thru the die and out the top. The result is a fully resized case that will fit in any proper chamber. A word of advice - the worse the bulge, the more muscle needed to reform it. The base is the strongest part of the case, it takes a lot of muscle to compress it back into shape. The smaller your press, the more muscle you need, and even though the die is carbide, some case lube can be *very* helpful. I just resized about 100 rounds that otherwise would have gone in the trash, and I'm quite sure I will need to do this on a fairly regular basis.

hope this helps.

I'll have to look into this. I've always been a fan of the factory crimp die by Lee.

The Redding GRX push-through resizing die for .40 S&W is another option to eliminate the infamous Glock bulge.

interesting.

my first thought is that a bulge at the base of the case doesn't get "fixed" but spread causing that area to weaken. that could be REALLLY bad juju especially in a glock. your basically spreading metal in the bulge around the case not reforming it. the streched area still remains thinner..... correct?

from what I understand, the more often a case gets "Glocked", the faster it will split, or tear around the base. A series of bulge/compress/bulge/compress events would indeed be a nasty situation...luckily, I shoot a Springfield XD, which doesn't bulge my brass, but sometimes, at the brass table after a match, you might get your own brass back, and you might not. I mark most of my rifle brass, but I am just now starting to mark my 40SW brass...also, I am not going to pass up nice clean range brass if I can fix it once and shoot it many times.

The main thing is, chamber check all of your reloads, and if some of them are Glocked, this is how you fix 'em - and yes, you can do this with loaded rounds

OK, well, if you find yourself in possession of some glocked brass, I'll be happy to take them off your hands.
