Just saying goodbye. Heading to the Hotel tonight then off to MEPS tomorow morning. Fly to Ft. Benning Tues Morning. Take care of my buddies SC and CK
 Especially CK...we all know he is one of the "special" ones. SC has my guns so if he tries to sell a Sig P226 9mm, Stinger Arms lower, RRA M4 upper, KAC RAS II or EoTech 511 don't buy it. They're mine! If any of you have any words you would like to share, my email is [email protected] which I'll have my parents check. Then maybe once I get my addy down at Benning I'll have SC post it and if you like you could write a letter of encouragement or whatever! Blow some shit up for me... I'll do the same for you guys. I hope you do lots of push ups!
I hope you get smoked every f'ing day and at least 3 times on sunday! I hope the drills see you as "Special"! I hope your battle buddy is one of those "Dont ask dont tell" guys! I hope that you run your ass off for P.T.! I hope they rip the shit out of your rack and wall locker! I hope they make you wear a stupid white dot on a pair of your combat boots! ( My drills did not make us do that because they said it was gay!) I hope you have a drill that thinks you all should look like penis's and not let you all get high and tights! ( My drills hated bald heads and we never had them it was high and tight the whole thing throug!) I hope you volinteer for every f'ing detail! ( Dont vol for ammo detail on the live fire and movement day!, I got fucked!) I hope you get at least 3 days of K.P. doing dishes! ( That is the most fuck'd detail!) And most of all.... Good luck, hang in there, most of us have done it and you will be able to aswell! Keep your nose clean, your shit strack and your mouth shut! listen to every word!, and no matter how tired you get pay attention, you are getting the chance to learn a lot of cool shit that will not mean much till later when you least realize it! The one thing I took from Basic was the fact that no matter how hard something seem'd your body is able as long as your mind and heart are willing. You will be able to do amazing things, just dont think about it.....Do it! hang in there, and make sure you post your Address ASAP, I will make sure to send you a letter or two!

6 years in the Navy and never cleaned one single shitter. Any Navy vets out there can tell you how impressive that feat is. Edited to add this interchange between my Company Commander, Chief Petty Officer Javier, and myself. Chief "goddammudderpucker" (with a filipino accent) Javier. "DeBella why did you join the Navy" Recruit DeBella. "My dad said I couldn't flop Pizzas the rest of my life." I swear he turned right around and went back in his office to laugh his ass off. haha....thats ironic...as much as I may hate yer attitude towards myself R32 - im behind that idea 100% Me and kev used to run regularly...well try to run regularly, him to get ready for SFAS, me for BUD/s...just got a letter from him today, he says basic isn't nearly as hard as he thought it would be, and that in his training PLT theres only one other guy going for an 18x contract....sounds like he's doing great. And CK...thats MY damn 226 ;) |

Hey guys. I'm on my first 4hr pass right now. Hanging out at the Rec Center. Started our 6th week Friday. Spent the last 2 weeks doing Basic Rifle Marksmenship. We've had M16A4's since day 4 of being here. Most people shot pretty bad when we had to do the actual qualficaton course. I shot 26/40. Only 2 in the whole company shot expert. I short better on the other ranges but oh well. I put 100rds through the M240B on Thurs. 200rds through the M249 Fri and about 10 practice rounds through the M203 yesterday. Tomorrow we have a 8mile foot march and spend 3 days bivoucaing. Going to use our M68 CCO (Aimpoints), PAQ-4s and NVGs to shoot at night. That will be fun....
Its pretty easy. I wish it was harder. Need to get in better shape. I skipped the Fitness Test saturday because i was on Duty squad to setup the ranges. Running 2miles in around 13:20 so thats not too bad. I will be in teh 12's.. I wish i could be buying stuff when the AWB goes away. Maybe i'll have my parents send me a CC and I'll buy stuff on one of the weekends  Take it easy guys Kevin |

Two weeks of B.R.M. in a Inf. M.O.S.,( 18X contract even) and you get by with only shooting a 26/40?
and 2 guys shoot expert? Something is really, really wrong with that!  You keep up the good work!, I hope your Drills feel bad about the type of marksmenship training they are providing... BTW...Were they Prior svc. NAVY or something? Beers on me when you get home!

Hi guys. I'm on this shitty ass computer yet again!@#$
So yea one more week and I graduate from Basic. W00hoo. We are going on a 4days bivouac tomorrow to learn Movement Under Direct Fire using MILES gear... Too bad 1/2 of my MILES gear doesn't work. Specifcally my laser so i can't shoot anybody. We threw 2 live grenades Wednesday and tossed a bunch of practice grendades with fuses. I got 6/7 so thats a sharpshooter badge. We had a our live fire night infiltration course. They fired 240's and 249's about 15meters over our head while we high crawled 110 meters at night. It was kind of fun. I have a PT score of 260 right now. 60 pushups, 61 situps and 12:50 2mile run. I should have a 300 by the end. I'm good for Graduation and Airborne school as of now. All you need is a 180 to grad and a 210 for Airborne. Yea I know 26/40 is bad for qual. I fired better in every other event. I took the highest score on the moving target range. Hopefully after next weekend the training gets better. We begin our Infantry training at that point. Hope you guys are enjoying the lack of AWB a little. I wish i could buy some shit and go out shooting. Adios Kevin |

GT good for you I can now say "BROTHER!" in a few days you will be graduating and you will more than likely be allowed to have a couple of beers, dont do anything stupid, that is when most of the guys started doing the duffle bag drag!... And for gawd sakes dont do what I did on my Final Inspection.... ( I hid the platoons porno mags in my Sleeping bag, because I was the Plt Guide, and they never inspected our 2 man room....Well the First SGT flung my sleeping bag to see if we clean'd the inside out after FTX, and out came about 10 Mags in front of the whole platoon!) I ended up with one of my drill sgt in a Natl Guard unit later on a few years after and the first thing he did was tell me that was the funniest shit he remmembers about being a Drill... |

Hey guys,
I'm currently on my Mid-Cycle pass hanging out at the Sheraton hotel. Its nice to have a little time away from Ft. Benning. I have to report back at 1630 and get ready for the last 3 weeks of training before our FTX. Our Platoon won the Battle March and Shoot. We marched 3.4 miles with rucks and gear in 49mins, received 40/40 points on our gear inspection and then we all qualified on the moving target range so we basically smoked all the other platoons which was nice. Then yesterday morning we had the D&C PD8 competion where we preformed in front of the familes and were graded by DS's from another Company. We won that as well. Tuesday is a fun 12mile Footmarch at 3am as long as the Hurricane doesn't hit us too bad. Thats pretty much it... PS R-32...we haven't really had any contraband in our platoon so hopefully that last inspection won't be too big of a deal
